For an incredibly geeky and most-likely disturbing perspective, my head canon is that Sonichus and Rosechus are a very sexually competitive species of "monotreme" (the egg-laying mammals). Monotremes have "cloacas" much like birds and reptiles and a cloaca is an multi-purpose opening that does everything a living organism's hole could possibly do. Sonichus, being monotremes, would also have this and that 8-inch schlong is actually just an extension of this cloaca (it basically turns inside out like a hyena vagina) and can be extended this far because the Sonichus are extremely competitive over females. Sonichus will often greet Rosechu's verbally and will shake their hand as a form of courtship, which demonstrates their level and the typical mating position for them is "missionary cowgirl". The higher the level, the more impressed the Rosechu will be. Sonichus will often fight other Sonichus in violent Pokemon battles over Rosechus where one or even both Sonichus may faint in combat.

It can also mean Zapina can't use her tail as a spotlight because she would be exposed to adult stuff while she's helping. The creature also has an elongated body, which is much more serpentine as oppose to a Naga. It is more likely a Lamia; and given Chris’ affinity to anime, is most likely the case here, as Lamia are more commonly depicted in anime whereas Naga is more of a DND/Warcraft thing.
