A pal and I used to go to a Dublin pub that had a vaguely Seven-ish character behind the counter. When she got to know us, she'd hold up two fingers to ascertain if it was going to be the regular order - two pints of Guinness - so my pal affectionately nicknamed her One of Two.

Well they nailed it. What an actress, she certainly does not get enough credit. Playing all the characters with the multiple personality episode... she did an excellent Ferengi. And she nailed playing the Doctor. Very good acting range. Her physical appearance certainly didn't hurt but she would've been an excellent addition regardless.

Seven was one of the first fictional humans I ever had a serious crush on and one of the main reasons I continued watching voyager. I found her also genuinely likeable, her dry sense of humour amusing and her whole countenance very aesthetically pleasing. Not to mention her voice is sublime.

Seven-Of-Nine was truly one of the best Star Trek characters ever! She gave Voyager the Spock-type character it desperately needed. Tuvak never quite did it. And the Doctor provided the perfect foil to further enhance Seven, much like Bones enhanced Spock. The show might have been way more widely accepted if these two characters had been there from the start.
@spaceman0814474 жыл бұрын
TO: Tom Donnelly RE: ". . . She [Seven of Nine] gave Voyager the Spock-type character it desperately needed. Tuvak never quite did it. . . ." That's because the Tuvok character was never as well developed as was the Spock character. The same could be said, as well, about the Lt. Uhura character in the original series.

One thing I love about 7 of 9 is that being Borg she was the last person on Voyager to crack under pressure and always kept her cool most of the time. I'd think if it wasn't for 7 and her calm confidence Voyager might never have gotten home. Most people would have considered her control of her emotions a flaw, but to Starfleet it is definitely what a starship needs. It's what makes Vulcans great assets to Starfleet as well.

My favourite line is when the "unemotional" Seven snaps, "Remove your hand, or I will remove your arm!" in "Someone To Watch Over Me", which is one of my favourite episodes.
@ditr1611 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. Seven IS my favorite character on Voyager. I think they made her put on the skin-tight uniform for the sex appeal factor, but Jeri Ryan took what she was given and brought so much more to that character--complexity, dry humor, discovery and, yes, ultimately humanity. I found her completely likable (even when she was freshly liberated) and believable all throughout the stages of her growth as a human being. Watching her journey was one of the best things about Voyager.

Seven and B'elanna and Seven and Tuvok are classics. Tuvok doesn't even blink at not conversing with Seven for over half an hour on a cramped shuttle and isn't bothered by the fact at all when Seven points out the fact. B'elanna is constantly grumbling about Seven's lack of social skills, yet when there is trouble in Engineering nobody gets to work faster than the two of them, side by side. Also, poor Seven trying to teach other former Borg Drones how to become more when she's still working it out herself. You can understand why Janeway gave her the job, but I was always halfway impressed they didn't strangle each other...

The episode was called Tsunkatse, it was somewhere in the middle of season 6, guest starred The Rock, it was a fun highlight of the season.

I've heard so many ppl. just say that Sevens character was on Voyager for the sex appeal, but she was one of my favorite characters. I enjoyed her story. A human being kidnapped as a child, transformed into a borg, and then brought back to humanity. Jeri Ryan acted it very well. All the sex appeal crap is futile.

I enjoyed how appealing she is physically. I never thought it limited her character arc. The fact she seems unconcerned by how attractive she is creates a tension, the elephant in the room. Men react around her but she seems unphased. It's a pleasant way to approach being sexy, indirectly as if it doesn't exist.

@seanwilkinson86963 жыл бұрын
You are correct, sir. When WWE (WWF at the time) Smackdown was made officially part of the fairly-new UPN (United Paramount Network) schedule, they ran a bit of a cross-promotion and had The Wrestler Not Yet Commonly Referred To As Dwayne Johnson (aka the Rock, and credited onscreen as the same) as an alien gladiator for the episode "Tsunkatse".
@josephharold8083 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken at this point he was still called Rocky yeah? That was before he turned heel and became the rock. Though I may very well be mistaken.

Well technically Vulcans have intense emotions and just learn how to control them because of how violent they are, so in fact they'd be quite suited to explain them.

Um, there have been quite a few great racks in TV. She may be on the list, but I'm not she she is the greatest. A few I can think of off the top of my head are Julie Newmar, Kat Dennings, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Pamela Anderson, and Loni Anderson who may give her a run for the money.
