'Give my sight to the man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby's face, or love in the eyes of a woman. Give my heart to a person whose own heart has caused nothing but endless days of pain. Give my blood to the teenager who was pulled from the wreckage of his car, so that he might live to see his grandchildren play. Give my kidneys to one who depends on a machine to exist from week to week. Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body and find a way to make a crippled child walk. If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses, and all prejudice against my fellow man. Give my sins to the devil. Give my soul to God. In the entire film, the scenes with Ezra during the phone call and the cafe scene is the most memorable scenes for me. Woody did a fantastic job on maintaining a blind but very kind persona and it broke my heart when he was being so nice even being called all these bad words about himself. There will be people like this in this world who will get treated like crap for being disabled and thinking that it exists is truly saddening. Love this film ! Great job Will and Woody

The placement of this scene in the movie was so perfect. Later, when Ben reveals he was trying to “see” for himself how good a man Ezra was through that phone call before committing to donating his own eyes, I lost it. Absolutely one of the most redemptive parts of the movie. Ben tells Ezra how he discovered Ezra’s forbearance, patience, and mercy toward Ben amidst the painful hurt he caused him in that phone call. During that scene I realized who was really suffering from lack of sight: everyone else (including Ben) but Ezra. As Ezra couldn’t see the beauty of the world around him, the people who weren’t blind couldn’t see the beauty of Ezra’s character within him. Not to imply that they were all being ignorant, but rather, if anyone were to have taken time to get to know Ezra, he/she would’ve been stunned at what they’d find in his personality. For me, I had to become “blind” in a sense, by putting on Ezra’s shoes to truly see what made Ezra the type of guy he was, the type of heart he had for the world around him. Absolutely loved this movie
