Seven sets of triplets, 2 sets of quads and ONE BIG SCREW UP!
I finally had the BIG DAY of lambing I had been expecting... Seven sets of triplets, and 2 sets of quads in the last 24 hours!
I also had to remove the rams from their 'playhouse' aka breeding pens. Turns out, I should NOT try to perform management jobs in the middle of lambing.

BatmanPwnage I have both and I’d recommend getting sheep. They are more peaceful and non destructive. Our goats have jumped their five foot fence and broke our window 😂

@@rachelsark6148 ah I see. So basically a dog thats untrainable I'm guessing. My mini pin broke a door hahaha and my in laws dog ate his boat and engine. Then.... Maybe I'll go for quail. Something small and hopefully non desctructive. Theres no sheep in my area.

I am a 23 year old, middle class, fine art graduate from India. And I spend 40% of my afternoon watching your lamb videos, and I don't even own a lamb and I live in a metropolitan city of Mumbai. I absolutely love watching the babies! There’s something so sweet about the babies sleeping on not only their Momma, but any other Mom who will let the babies lay on them! They’re so dang cute!! 💗💗💗

Is so cute/sweet to see some of the moms not really caring that they've got someone else's lamb(s) lay on or against them. They have their babies nearby and they aren't batting an eyelid at helping take care of someone else's. It takes a village to to raise a child after all.

Some ewes are more of the it takes a village to raise the babies and others won’t have anything to do with any lambs except their own and can get really aggressive kicking and shoving them away and searching for their own babies , which they are very positive about, and separating them from the other lambs and ewes.

I used to work with sheep and really miss it. We had Suffolks for meat and Border Leicesters. We showed both breeds. I was a night-owl so I did the early morning barn checks but our system was much different. We kept track of breeding dates and moved them to the hill paddock. A few days before they were due, we moved them to the lambing barn and put them in jugs after lambs were born. They got a bucket of warm water and some good hay. Many of our ewes were 200 to 250 pounds and our Suffolk rams were 300 to 350 pounds. I logged the birth and birth weights as well as sending registration papers. I also helped the owner choose the rams used for breeding. I enjoyed it.

every year we have a at least one baby that gets rejected, im 14 and think that all of them deserve a chance. so every winter there is a baby sheep that lives in my room. last month it was tulip. last year it was rain and panda, 2 years ago it was stormy, and 4 years ago it was the first panda (he was born with deformed legs so he walked on his knees)

I was all “push!” & a tear of relief when the lamb finally came out! So yeah I get the “you’d like I just gave birth” thing and I wasn’t even there! Birthing babies is an emotional time. So glad you were there to assist & we got to witness the miracle of birth. Thanks!

11:05 the single most awesome moment in this vlog. Sandi when you rested your forehead against the ewe it showed the absolute compassion you have as a sheep farmer. God Bless you❤️❤️❤️ As to the gate incident....Ralph just let our ram lambs in with the main flock and Samson our mature Ram. He was in a hurry and forgot the ewes were still in the corral. He was so happy because Rudy and Valentino were following him out of the barn😳😳😳.

First lesson I ever learned was never EVER turn your back in the ram pen. Our rams are Bevis and Butthead. We swap out rams with another wool producer that has bigger flock. But the rams are always Bevis and Butthead. Several years ago, I was feeding the wethers and the ram pens. Butthead was feeding and needed water bucket change. Smooth as silk, Bevis got me. About 15 seconds of being airborne, hit the ground hard in poo pile. LESSON LEARNED the hard way. 7 sets of triplets holy crap ,2 sets of quads double holy crap.

Our ram Samson got me in the back as I was closing one gate to move them. He respects my husband but loathes me and Now I never do anything with the sheep without my ironwood crook. He comes from a farm where the only person working the sheep is a man.

Hi Here in RSA, we put the ewes in lambing pens around 3 days before they lamb. They then lamb in the pens, thus saving us the trouble of finding which lamb belongs to which ewe.

That’s an impossible suggestion for her indoor set-up! For one, she doesn’t have space to put 100+ pregnant ewes in individual lambing pens for 3 days, and for two, the due dates often span 21, or even 30+ days, you’d have to guess, it wouldn’t make sense having ewes in little pens that long, they’d lose muscle mass and condition!

When I was young I was assisting my mom trying to help a birthing goat. She was delivering twins... at the same time. One front hoof from one and two back feet from the other. She had to lift up the doe's back legs and wheelbarrow her to get the babies back in, then reach in, feel which was what, grab one, then pull it out. Once she got one engaged, she picked up the doe from the front and 'danced' with her to shake it back down. No gloves. ha! It was all about survival in the moment. We got two healthy kids out of it. Almost lost all three.

Pretty sure most of us know that feeling, I sure do. However, in the grand scheme of things it wasn’t *that* big of a screw up just super frustrating and time consuming. On another note, when seeing family 61 I thought it would be easy to mix them up with group 19’s numbers, but then I noticed it looks like your protocol is to orient their head to the left when you number them. Hello from Austria! I only discovered your channel today and am so impressed! I grew up with about 15 milk goats and had been dreaming of living with a big herd like yours (goats, though). A friend and I were doing hundreds of drawings and blueprints of our future farm, stables, etc. So far it hasn't happened, but today, accompanying the loving, caring beautiful you, Sandi, facing the challenges and the rewarding moments, has given me fresh hope and fuel to pursue that dream. I grew up on a farm, like a lot of us, and in my opinion this is one of the best channels available for an accurate look at what that's all about. Farms are different, of course, but there are concrete, irrefutable real life situations that exist, the same way, in each and every one of them. This channel is superb and is wonderfully done. I am extremely happy I found this. I watched videos for over 4 hours yesterday and became a huge fan. I have had rare moments where seeing and hearing things gave a memory jolt that was as clear as I experienced. Thank you for this channel and your dedication to it. I think it is wonderful! Sandi, it looks like you try to do all of the sheep/lambing chores on your own. My two cents, you need a little part time help with management tasks during lambing. Relieve some of the unnecessary stress that this adds to the job and maybe grab a bite to eat. It isn't a question of whether you need the help, you do! Sorry Sandi, I relinquish my soapbox.

You Sandi are my hero!!!!!!!! I’ve seen many things in my lifetime and I’m 61 years young. Girl watching you save that baby touched my heart. I live in Menahga Minnesota on a hobby farm and for a little over a year I’ve been into felt ( horse )and I go visit my local shepherd to hang out with his flock. I’ve seen human births but watching you day after day LOVE on GODS creatures and you helping them is just so awesome. And you open up your life for our enjoyment and I’m so glad you do this to open the worlds eyes to what LOVE IS.( the Bible says to let another praise you) girl I SUFFER from Lyme and DDD oh and so much more, but girl DONT EVER GIVE UP what you do for so many. I enjoy watching you be real!!!!!!!! Your my new BAfriend. Baaaaaaaa

The doctor is in time for lamb therapy. I always thought the one having the baby would be the one in pain and making noise i think it's you that shows you care ,worry and encourage them. I'm wondering is this what they mean by to much of a good thing?

At my house we have a NEW ritchaul, My 9 yr old Granddaughter has me turn on you channel to keep up with the new lambs !! plus She wants guess for Christmas !! We are likeing your information about Lamb Farming ! Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year !

Sandi a breed of sheep in Nfld called locals was traced back to the first settlers here Basque Portuguese and Irish fisherman I remember one of the few we had the mom was quite old but have birth to triplet ewes all 10 lbs each ! Your huge triplets reminded me of that ! Thanks for the sweet memories.

Congrats on all the babies!. Wow watching them jump around and lay on the moms, sure brings back great memories when I raised sheep some 40 years ago. Sure miss them.
