I really hope there is a book written with a Ravenclaw as a main character. I mean having Harry Potter, Newt Scamander as the main characters for their houses is awesome but, it would be nice if every house got a cool wizard story too. #Ravenclaw 💙

Another thing in the movies they got wrong about ravenclaw is in the first movie when they are walking back to dormitories the ravenclaw prefect lead them downwards looking like they are going toward the dungeons but in the books they say that the ravenclaw dormitories are in the highest point of the castle

Also to add on to #1, if a foreign house member were to try to get into the Ravenclaw common room, they have to answer a question such as, "which came first the phoenix or the fire?" and Luna Lovegood replied, "a circle has no beginning." and the question changes every time so the answer can't just fly around the school like gossip and then foreign house members can cheat their way in. Also I read this on Pottermore so if anyone has any questions, that's where I would refer you to.

I think one of the reasons Gilderoy Lockheart even got into Ravenclaw is because another Ravenclaw trait is not wanting to be ordinary and being an individual. Growing up, he really wanted all the type of attention Harry Potter received, and he got that (or at least something like it) when he became famous, even if it was only for his looks.

I love how Hermione Granger was considered for Ravenclaw, like she definitely puts her Gryffindor traits first, but I love the idea of her being Ravenclaw. She portrays what I think a Ravenclaw is all about (other than when her Gryffindor traits show up)

Also Ravenclaw has the biggest common room, being associated with the air element of the four houses, a riddle to get in instead of a password, and arguably the best view in all of Hogwarts. I love being a Ravenclaw.

In defence of Gilderoy Lockhart, he wasn't evil just incredibly vain and self-assured and despite the fact that he did erase the memories of other people so that he could publish books he was never an evil person and as for his intelligence he did have memory charms going for him and he knew how to work a crowd.

Every test other than the pottermore one I've ever taken said that I was a Ravenclaw, so before I even took the official test, I got myself a scarf to show off my house pride. I felt it was where I belonged and I agreed with much of its values and loved how much I felt I connected to the traits. When I finally got my own personal email, I decided to take the pottermore test. I was shocked by what I got: Gryffindor. I'm guessing it's because even though I I always try to do the logical thing and absolutely adore philosophical topics, I do have fairly high morals and want to fight for what is right and be remembered for something impactful. An example of this is that when I had to answer the question of whether I'd save the baby or the bottle from a house fire, I chose the baby. I can't live with the guilt of causing the unfixable heartbreak of one or both of the parents of a most likely crying baby in a house fire, and now that I have a baby sister, I am positive that is exactly what I'd do in that situation. I didn't even think about how the bottle only MIGHT save a thousand lives, the impact of this one life would be too important to me in the heat of that moment (hehe, HEAT). Still, even after the official thing, I knew I wouldn't be able to call myself a proud Gryffindor, even if I tried. So I took the test again using the email I use for school. I was greatly relieved by what I got: Ravenclaw. Even though this is a little controversial, I know that I am most definitely a Ravenclaw at heart, even if I would've made an ok Gryffindor(I'm really not all too brave), I am proud to be part of the Ravenclaw family!

I was a hatstool and everyone laughed at me for talking about how I couldn't decide between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw for 2 minutes and professor McGonigal couldn't stop laughing and the sorting hat saw how I made people happy and gladly put me in Hufflepuff with a huge grin on its face if only you muggles saw it, it was the funniest thing ever

About Lockhart. Y'know how Wormtail was in Gryffindor when he wasn't race at all? It's the same thing. He admired the intelligence needed for Ravenclaw so much (just as Wormtail admired the bravery of Gryffindor) that the hat put him in Ravenclaw, even though he didn't have the intelligence Ravenclaws desire.

The thing about bronze is that it’s not used in heraldry. Especially not in medieval heraldry. There are two metals used: Gold, which is called “Or” and depicted yellow, and silver, called “Argent” and depicted white. The non metallic colors are just called colors, and are Azure (blue), Gules(red), Vert (green), Sable (black), Purpure (purple). They were originally made so basic so as to be easily identified, and they were/are still mixed specifically for contrast. You can’t have metal on metal, or color on color, because of contrast (though there are ways to sneak around those rules). Hufflepuff would actually be Or and Sable, Slytherin would be Vert and argent. Gryffindor would be Gules and Or, and Ravenclaw? Azure and either Argent (movie) or Or, if they had gone with gold. I think as Ravenclaws, we’d really enjoy heraldry, because it developed many clever rules to keep clarity of the image, yet accommodate the numerous designs people come up with!

I do not like elevators ("lifts" in Britain), so I usually use the stairways to move up and down floors. One thing I do love when visiting a new city is going to a tall building and looking down at the city. That's so #Ravenclaw !

Not many people no this, but a ravenclaw, I mean like the opposite of a hat stall, like the hat screamed ravenclaw before it touched the person's head, can cause the stairs to move. Like an escalator but really fast. And there's an invisible elevator that can be accessed by answering three riddles.

Ravenclaws are the best of both worlds. They can chill with slitherins and also talk to griffindors, idk about huffle puffs tho.

The movie colors for Ravenclaw are historically correct by medieval heraldry rules, you know. And having a raven instead of an eagle as our house totem is appropriate, since corvids (ravens, rooks, crows, magpies, etc.) are some of the smartest birds in the world! Not that eagles are necessarily birdbrains, but when it comes to avian IQs, you can't beat the raven. Also, ravens figure prominently in various mythologies, ranging from the trickster god Crow who stole fire from the sun and brought it to humanity in many Native American legends to Odin's crows Huginn and Muginn to the title characters of James O'Barr's graphic novel series (Eric DRAVEN, Ashe CORVIN, etc., all named after corvidae). The more you know... -_^
