So Trauma actually is based off of each members' trauma. Vernon's about his struggles being bi-racial w/c led him to dropping out of school. Mingyu's about how he has always been criticized for his singing as a trainee. Wonwoo's one is partially about being forever associated with a mistake you did as a kid who did not know any better (iykyk). Scoups' one is about anxiety. And yes, please react to their Rolling Stones In my Room versions of these unit songs 🙏

"PINWHEEL" is a very beautiful song with a beautiful message, it depends how you wanna interpret it. Woozi made this song based on a DREAM he had. He said he dreamt of a vast field with sad looking sky. Then on the path along the field, there was a pinwheel in the middle. he said he got inspired from it because it felt like he was waiting for someone just like the pinwheel.

So there's a really heart touching back story behind the birth of the Vocal team's song "Pinwheel".. So the story is about Woozi's dream. So apparently in his dream, he saw himself in the middle of nowhere on some road. Lonely. And at the end of the road there's a Pinwheel stuck on the road just shown as on the MV. He found that expression really sad and loneliness creeps in him. And that's how, ladies and gentlemen, our masterpiece Pinwheel was born. Hats off to Woozi our best producer

i think everyone else has covered most of what i can add to the contexts for these but: in the "clap" MV you can see references to all of these music videos as they're b-sides from the same album, "teen,age"!! some more stuff i haven't seen mentioned that i can add: "lilili yabbay" is actually the english title and thus is more commonly used! you guys mentioned it looked like they were casting spells in the MV which is 100% correct because the choreography was inspired by the movements of doctor strange in the marvel movie :D it's so cool that you picked up on that vernon actually did drop out of school that young due to being bullied for being biracial. not sure if he did any homeschooling since he joined pledis as a trainee very young but i imagine so? and in his section of the MV you were actually right that the fans are representing FANS, all pointing (looking) directly at him and yet he's rapping about feeling alone and being forgotten ;; and s.coups' final verse really makes me feel claustrophobic with the holes in the ceiling and the searching spotlight shining through, which is v fitting for his part being about anxiety...

There are a couple of legendary performances of Lilili Yabbay you may want to check out - the first is when the Hip Hop unit attempts to cover the song/dance (very funny, there is a cartwheel...), the other is when Performance team does it, but Seungkwan is filling in for The 8, and he doesn't actually know much of the choreo, so he fakes it, and they sort of push him around throughout the dance, it's comedy gold :)

It's really interesting coz that's how I interpreted Pinwheel too. Though Woozi said it's about waiting for someone. He had a dream about a pinwheel in the middle of a field standing alone as if waiting for someone, and this inspired him to write this song....but he did not mention that the "someone" is another person so I know he wants listeners to interpret it however we want.

You should check out the unit performances for Rolling Stones. They did all three songs but a new version of lilili yabbay. It was so good

Ah the unit songs! I remember when I used to listen to Change Up on repeat lol. Honestly, if the Leaders had more songs they'd probably be my second favourite unit. Can't wait for y'all to eventually get to Cheers in your discography deep dive! The performance unit was unnecessarily rude with this one. Change up was the song that literally made me a carat 💙💗!!! I was interested in seventeen since their debut but it was Change up that really made me want to stan them and it still is one of my favorite songs from seventeen although over the years I continued to love all their discrography

Revisiting all the songs I used to listen at 2016-17 (when I was 16-17 yrs old) with you guys have been so amusing. I really hope you guys don't miss out all the B-side tracks of [GOING SEVENTEEN] album too. I really loved them back then and listening to some of them even now (thanks to you guys). My no.1 recommendation would be "Lean On Me" (기대) [Going Seventeen 3rd Mini Album] (hip hop unit), "Don't listen in secret" (Vocal unit) and "Say yes" (by DK and Seungkwan / from more early album). I'm currently rewatching your reaction to the different units' songs and would like to recommend the following; Habit, I Don't Understand But I Love U (IDUBILU), and Fire. That's something I really love about all the rappers is that they all have different and nice tones. And I might have freaked out alittle with the Performance team(which was bound to happen with two wreckers) but all of their charisma was off the charts and for the vocal team, like wow. One of a kind voices that's for sure.

Like dang. 0.o I liked TRAUMA on 1st listen and that was clip's from their live on Rolling Stone. It took me a bit to hear the full song and the feels. Gosh. Love songs with feels. Heard Mingyu couldn't think of a trauma to put in the song so they gave him the chorus. =0p Giggles. Dang, forgot there was an MV for this. I liked the staging for it too. Now it gives me a mix of Vs Singularity MV with Jimin's Serendipity MV. Colors and parts. i wonder if some staff was the same for both, hmm. LILILI YABBAY is good too. The MV is cool. They are performers!!! I think they mixed a mime with those statues that don't move but are painted all one color. They created their own art piece that everyone watches and reacts . PINWHEEL is a fav. So lovely. The feels are just chef's kiss. Reading the lyrics again I think of BTS and Army. Army saying some of these lines to BTS and BTS saying these lines to Army. UwU .
