Out of the ashes of the legendary Type O Negative, a new band emerges from the very heart of Brooklyn, New York. Type O Negative veterans Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly could not have chosen a better moniker for their new group, than the Dante-inspired "Seventh Void". On the New Yorkers' debut, it rains despair, sin, agony, fire, and doom metal in its purest form. Seventh Void needs not offer unnecessary embellishments. The quartet rightfully focuses on the genre's quintessence: hypnotic riffs, heavy grooves, and haunting vocal lines. Kenny Hickey skillfully masters both guitar and vocal duties, while transforming songs like "Closing In", "Broken Sky", or the title-track into first-class doom anthems. The top-notch production emphasizes the album's obscure character, as well as its unique Brooklyn spirit. "Heaven is Gone" is an album that will undoubtedly take more than just Type O Negative fans by storm. Beginning in November, Seventh Void will embark on a European tour in support of Monster Magnet!

I got to hang out with Kenny after a Type O Negative show at the Masquerade in Atlanta, he is one of the nicest, down to earth persons anyone would want to meet.

I remember seeing Seventh Void open for Type O on one of their final tours... Kenny introduced the one song with "this next one was written about havin to clean up Peter Steele's puke for the last twelve years". Gotta love Kenny's self-deprecating sense of humor.

Dude this album may be the greatest effort a band has put out after a key member died. Kenny always held down the atmosphere & background with his playing and his vocal contributions… His voice is transcendent & I’m glad we finally got to see him in the spotlight he deserves. Currently they are killing it with Silvertomb & im just so happy Kenny & Johnny are out there keeping their legacy and sound alive

I saw them twice in 1997 and 1998 in NM where i live. I am so glad i got to see them. It was a shock to hear that Peter died. They were always joking around and I hoped that it was a joke. Sadly it wasn't :(

Heaven Is Gone is one of my personal all-time favorite albums. I checked it out when it first came out, & fell in love with it instantly. Not one less than perfect song on this album. Really wish they released more music though.

New album due out at the end of this year or early 2018, they are also adding a keyboardist to the lineup supposedly... i can only hope it's Josh! It also implies they may have more of their ToN roots in this next album, i certainly hope so. Listening to ToN, Kenny does a lot of backup vocals and i think they can carry on that sound if they desire, you can hear bits of it in this song, and some other tracks on this album and it's fucking glorious! They need to just own that sound, even without Pete to write the songs... anyways that's just my opinion, it will never be the same but i fucking miss that sound. OH and they are considering a name change.

They remind me more of Soundgarden than Alice and Chains...either way, these guys bounced back really well after Type O Negative and Peter Steele's death. I wish them the very best, they deserve it!

Yeah, it'd be awesome. Sadly, Josh doesn't want to do music anymore. He's an EMT in Brooklyn now. Pretty ironic that he got out of music after years of playing songs about death, and now he's saving lives. Imagine getting in a car wreck and being rescued by the dude from Type O Negative.
