@@fishingbaitinthesink Animal Crossing has always been the kind of game that you play for weeks straight and then don't touch for a few months before the cycle repeats. When there's no set in-game goal, you *will* eventually burn out and need a break from it, because you'll be doing the same things over and over. I finished decorating my island, I have all my dream villagers, all they ever say is "how great friends we are" when I talk to them. I need a break. I'm not getting any fun out of it anymore.

I remember I started animal crossing in late 2021, I got bored super fast and stopped playing until 2022. I only had 2 villagers at the time (Plucky and axel) I was expecting them to miss me but no. They just said “Oh you’re back, cool” then carried on with their day.
