If you need a smaller oakleaf hydrangea for your space, I reccomend a Munchkin Hydrangea. The same leaf structure, fall color, and large blooms on a smaller plant.

Before and after videos are my absolute faves! What I have learned watching your channel is to appreciate the journey rather than being unsatisfied by it until the destination. Because making changes and upgrades might have you stuck in a weird-looking 'in-between' stage which causes distress sometimes, but at least you know you're working towards your end goal and that alone is something to be happy about! Thank you for (even if it's unpurposely) teaching us to enjoy the "heres" and "nows" of gardening - and of course in life generally. 💚

Laura, As a new gardener, I greatly enjoyed this video. It's super helpful to see the long game for the perennials and shrubs. My new home is situated on an old Dairy Farm....an acre of field. I long to add structure and new growth to this place. You've helped me envision something I never could have imagined and I can't wait to bring it all to life.

Yes, Ontario is definitely a small world. I’m here watching from Oklahoma, but I grew up in that area. Then lived in Boise for quite a few years. Still have friends and family scattered all over the treasure valley. All these plantings look so nice. Your neighbors there really have a treasure in you and your family!!! 💚💚💚

I love the before and after shots. They help me realize how plants will look in the future and I love your Mom's tip about the 4 colors. That in itself brings life even without blooms. Just goes to show there is beauty in everything.

I had pansies along my walkway and they were starting to fizzle out with heat coming. I dug them up and put them in a pot in more of a shady area. They are happy as can be

Thank you Laura. I love to see the progression of beds and planters. You are so right about how important it is to look back. I take pictures of my beds and pots regularly. It helps me when I feel impatient or disheartened. It also helps when I go to redo them the following year to see what worked and didn't.

Looks amazing and it is so nice to see the after. The pots are awesome as usual but I wonder if something is being dumped into the container that is not doing as well. It is close to the table. Move away from table maybe.

Good Morning!! Love watching your videos in the morning with my coffee ☕ . This makes me want to get out in my yard to plant, clean up or just sit out to look around enjoying all the work I've done in my yard these last 5 years. I just took apart a bench to sand, repaint and reassemble, but undecided where I want it to sit. My goal is to one day add drip lines in my beds once I learn a little more on how to tackle it. I am in the process of designing a bed in my front yard that has 3 Cleveland Flowering Pear trees in an "L" shape an want to create a curve shape around them into one bed instead of squares around each tree. I want the lawn mower to take the curves with ease. I thought about cutting a shape with the mower first once I have rough design and then build it from there. Hope that makes sense.

Love this! One of my favorite things about your content is seeing you prep and plant an area and then returning down the road at different times and seeing how much things have grown and changed. I loved the clips of the original video with the date with the updated shots right after it. Ah-mazing. Thank you for all you do!

Hi Laura, I love the update videos! Re visiting feels like checking in with an old friend to see how they are doing. I noticed the white hydrangea in front of the Japanese maple is not only protected but near a rain chain. I’m guessing that the extra rain this year has made it shine even brighter. If only every year could be a spring like this one!

Hi! I remember when you used to sprinkle slow release fertilizer in all of your containers. Did you stop using it in favor of a weekly feeding? I notice in my containers the little beads never quite seem to dissolve so I wonder if it’s still worthwhile. I love what you and Aaron have done over the years! Thank you for getting this city girl to garden in my tiny lot 🌷🏠. When I’m stressed my husband tells me to go play in the dirt while he watches the kids lol.

i just want to say, I admire you sooo much. You guys put in so much work into your gardens. I attempt to work on a baby garden space and it's absolutely exhausting. But I continue to watch your videos to motivate me. And to see how much you guys put into it, it really let's me know that I can change a small space. I just need to put in the effort. So glad to see this update! I planted a fluffy last year then had to move it this year. It was very small to begin with and now it’s a bit stunted from the move. It’s encouraging to see the ones you planted doing so well! Everything looks great! Do you ever use PW’s tricolored sweet potato vine? I planted some this year and can’t get over how beautiful they are! Have a great day everyone!!

Is your fluffy as yellow/gold as hers? I have two babies (both quart pots planted spring 2021) and they are mostly green inside and only the gold color on the tips/top. Maybe the gold comes with age?

i love pansy and viola. to me they seem out of place in july, but i can't bear to pull them out til they start fading. they are just such happy plants that don't give up easily!!!

I grew some pansies from seed this year, well one seed sprouted. I have that one pansy doing very well in my garden. I wouldn’t dream of pulling it out, especially since it was a sole survivor 💪🏼

Watched this today and when you came to the lime colored plants in the containers that are damaged, my husband instantly said that people are probably pouring their drinks (sodas) into the planters. Just something to think about. I've been watching you for years now. LOVE YA!

Good morning, Laura and GA friends! I can't believe how much the arbs have grown. That was one of the first videos I watched after finding Garden Answer at the beginning of the pandemic. I just retired and am looking forward to having more time to spend in and on my gardens. Laura is such an inspiration! PS - I'm loving the jazzberry in my pots this summer! They are gorgeous! My Creeping Jenny doesn't do very well for me here in Zone 7. I also plant Pansies in the Fall for a beautiful display of color until Summer. One year I found Pansies on Sale and planted 84 Pansies in one large flower bed, yellow, purple and white. I had people stop and tell me how much they enjoyed them.

Love LOVE Love this type of update or look back video. I really appreciate seeing the growth.. because sometimes I get frustrated when I plant and they seem to take forever to fill in. This gives me a good Idea of how to gauge my expectations better. Please do more of these if possible with your already crazy schedules.
