Oh how I hope the owner learns how to brush this sweetie. Brush and comb.....mat breaker....She very well may be loved so much....it just takes learning....breeders should make sure to show how to use the brush and comb to keep this from happening. I have a labradoodle but my girl is WAY more standard poodle than lab. I don't even say labradoodle to be honest. I always get rescue dogs and got so, so lucky with her. Anyway, she has a heavy undercoat and I can brush and she turns into a cotton ball. An hour later, kinks. Her coat is different depending on where you look, lol. I searched for so long and bought 25 plus different combs brushes to use on her every day and nothing worked. At least not as good as I wanted. Finally, I found a $3-4.00 brush. It's wooden with red rubber base under the black bristles. It is made by Evolve and the product number is #572. If used daily or at least every 2-3 days there will be no issues. She gets matted EVERY day like around her neck or the tops of her rear legs where she sits and it gets smashed down. It is a battle but this brush for some reason goes through her coat better than anything I tried and it seems to not hurt her. At least she seems to know by now that this brush equals feeling good later. If there is a little bad area of matting, I brush it and go through a few strokes and it's gone. It's a miracle. It's a human brush btw. I figured I would let you guys know because it changed my life and my life her's as well.. Hope it works for you guys too.

She is a beautiful girl! I have had poodles my entire life and they do get matted easily, even with brushing. It's better to keep them very short.

We inherited our standard poodle last march after Mom passed away. Mom always groomed her own dogs and because of her illness the dog went without grooming for over six months. We had him shaved end of May. Now it’s February and we are back to this. He is brushed every day and bathed once a month. But he is still matted. We have all the equipment, even the table but I’m afraid I will hurt him.

How often do you replace clippers? I have two standard poodles and have gone through 5 or 6 clippers in one year and it's expensive. What clippers would you recommend for a standard? I trim mine every 4-5 weeks depending on the growth.

Where is the breeder in this equation? They usually teach buyers (and find out if the buyers have the ability to care for the puppy). This is so disheartening to see a poodle that is so good and probably understand she is being helped. How painful to have a totally matted coat… So glad to see she is getting shaved…What will the owner do in the future?!!

Camera person, I suggest you get a tripod and stabilize that camera the video is so shaky it detracts from the essence of what you are filming. Seriously, I couldn't watch the whole video it was making me nauseous. I so wish most creators would take a video class before they attempt to upload a video. It's as necessary as the content you're filming. Sorry to be negative this is not intended to be cruel, but truthful if you want subscribers.

There is no excuse for a dog to be this matted and miserable. If you can't afford the grooming costs and can't or won't do it yourself, don't get a dog that requires lots of grooming!!!

You just messed this dog up any normal person could have did that if that's all you did was just cut all his hair off to the skin I understand he was matted but I know you could have shaved him low at least I would have been mad because it takes a long time to grow their hair but more power to the owner
