At the start of half term week we took a trip on the Severn Valley Railway. We had a Freedom of the Line ticket so spent the day going up and down the line. We took the first steam train hauled by Erlestoke Manor to Bridgnorth. Then on the return journey we got off at Arley as the kids wanted to go feed the ducks.
At Arley we waited on the DMU to come in and caught that up to Highley. There we went to visit the Engine House Museum (not featured in this video) where I got to video the steam engine come through the cutting from the balcony (see 8:22). Not entirely sure how I managed it but I did make it down to the platform to catch the train back up to Bridgnorth.
We then travelled all the way back down the line to Kidderminster where the train terminated for the day. There we visited the museum where the kids were fascinated by the old rotary telephones.... gosh I feel old!
