Sew Heavy Binding Around a 90 Degree Corner - Without Cutting It!

In this video, we'll show you how to sew binding around a 90 degree corner without cutting it. Cutting the binding to turn a corner is not nearly as neat looking as folding the binding and creating a mitered corner, as shown in this video. This tutorial will be shown using the Sailrite® Ultrafeed® Sewing Machine. Demonstrated corners include both outside and inside 90 degree turns. This method is great for heavy-duty binding, like Sunbrella® or Sattler® Marine Grade binding.

E x c e l l a n t r o ! Heat technique. Hey, does Sailrite’s seam binder {silver auto-assist foldy-deallio} work well for domestic Home Studio machines ya think? I’ve a BabyLock Jazz II, mechanical & would really appreciate the grand assist with my seam binding tape/piping. Thanks! 🧵💨

Thanks for liking the video! Our binder will work on different brand sewing machines, but the BabyLock may be too light of a duty sewing machine. I don't think I would buy it for that machine.

I keep seeing example of binding but it’s almost always with one layer of fabric what about two layers or fabric with foam 1/8 backing.Something thick.

I think a few layers of fabric will not make much difference, but I have never tried it with 1/8" foam. So... that will need to be tested.

Trying to bind two layers of 1/8 foam-backed automotive headliner fabric along with 2 layers of canvas material with a binding adapter I got on amazon for $30 and not having much luck. I wonder if your binder adapter might actually work better. Anyway, You guys have great sewing machines that I will definitely consider if I need a second machine. I love all your videos. They are all helpful and interesting.
