You can Save time without drawing lines to sew on. You can sew unmarked diagonal lines like Snowball or Triangle Squares. Accurately sew bias seams for Binding all getting that perfect 1/4" seam.

I have been quilting for several years now and hate drawing lines. This works great! It also helps keep your 1/4" seam al the way through to the very end.

I've got to get this one I had one that was a cling type, followed their directions exactly and it tore the second time I used it and ended up an expensive piece of trash. I love that this one is much thicker and actually temporarily adheres to the sewing machine table and is removable too. Thanks, Laura--you are the BEST at keeping us informed about the latest nifty notions.

I’ve done 45° line stitching for a long time. All you need to do is draw a straight line on a sticky pad and put just before where needle goes in. Keep the sewing line eyed on the drawn line, works wonderfully. Simple, without expense of a special ruler.

I LOVE this notion! I had the version of this that was a vinyl cling, but it got beat up and stretched too easily, and fabric stuck to it. This is fantastic. Great notion share!

Thank you for a clear and help tutorial on this notion which I've had but had never used. I'll be sewing up 5" square pairs into HST's and then turning those into QST's and your tutorial gave me instant relief at not having to sit and draw all those diagonal lines.

Hi, Laura, I am so glad you demonstrated this tool. I have thought about getting it, but am hesitant without seeing it actually 'in use'. What I hope to see on your next demo is just how easy (or NOT easy) it is to follow that line with the corner of your piece. Your skill is much greater than myself, so, if your seam is wobbly, then my seam will be crazy! Know what I mean? I look forward to seeing the next demo.... And, thank you so much for sharing your skills and expertise! 😊

Thanks for explaining this. I have seen these before, but I had not seen an explanation of how to use it. I see (I think) that you are using a clear extension table. If you don't have an extension table or a machine that is recessed into your sewing table, I think this might not work very well. Looks like a great tool.

I wonder how well this works with sewing machines that have drop-in bobbins, From the looks of the tutorial it looks as though it would block your view of your bobbin making it difficult to know when you are about to run out of bobbin thread. Other than that it looks like a great idea.

I loved your video. I just received one in my October subscription box. I had been looking at this for at least a year, but I had bought something from Nancy’s Notions that helped me mark the diagonal lines. It works just great, but with the Sew Straight I won’t even have to mark the lines. I have a Bernina 790 plus. It looked to me as though you have a clear acrylic platform around your machine. I just have the sewing table that came with the machine. Will it work with that, or do I need another accessory?

Thank you so much for making this video. I recently bought this item, and was not sure how to use it. I hope you can answer a question I have about the use. I do not have a flat sewing surface or an extension table that I can use. Will this still work on a regular sized sewing bed? Not sure I’ve made this clear, but hope you can give me some advice. Again, thanks for the videos. Your teaching is always very clear and concise.

Yes, you can still use it. It is very bendable so you can bend it for your bed. You might need to trim it down As long as you can get to your bobbin it is fine. It will also protect your bed:) hope this helps

Sorry about that I did leave the marks on so that you could imagine where the needle was going. I felt that if I put the foot on and did sew you would not be able to see it as well. The needle would stitch on that line. You are not looking a the needle as you guide the fabric through, you are following the bottom point of the fabric to the line. I will keep that in mind for next time. Thanks

It would have been visually insightful to me if you demonstrated sewing with fabric not marked. I know that I am use to seeing the line as it relates to the foot so I am feeling with no line it’s like blind trusting that the fabric will sew that straight line, almost feels counterintuitive as to where to look! This was a new tool to me, interesting yet my brain struggles with it a bit! Lol

It is a tool that you do not need for each project, only those diagonal lines. I do not have the marks on my machine so I do use it for all my HST and my snowball blocks. For the binding strips, I use the same method, I just eyeball it. As a general rule, I do mention in the videos to draw the line as not everyone has this tool. You do not see it as I take it off my machine while filming so that everyone would not be confused. Thanks for watching
