The measurement around your ribcage would be the circumference. Just like to "Circumnavigate", is to navigate "around" the world. Radius (Measuring from the center of a circle out to the edge, like the spokes of a wheel or rays from the sun.) Diameter (Measuring the width of a circle through the center, having 2 halves. Like folding a cut out circle in half, open it, the fold line would be the diameter.) Circumference (Measuring around the edge of a circle.)

you gave me these explanations before and they flew RIGHT out of my head soon as I had to talk about it. Okay I can see a circle in my head to remind me of circumference, and sun rays for radius. I don’t have something for diameter yet…

@@thehandmadeharriells For Diameter, cut a circle out of some paper, then fold that circle exactly in half and crease the fold so you get a crisp line. Now, open the circle, see the creased line all the way across the middle of the circle, that's the diameter. It's the width of a circle side to side through the middle.

Just an FYI....I use exam paper to trace my patterns. That's right....the paper you lay on at the Dr.'s office. I get it on Amazon - a box of 12 rolls @ 225' each. Yes, they're narrow, but you can easily tape them together. That way you don't have to cut into your original pattern. AND if you gain or loose weight you can still trace out the other sizes....or for friends. I got this tip from a sewing vlog called Kittenish Behaviour.

After 3 different patterns (not every pattern is made for my body) and 4 tries, I have a pattern that fits me. The bodice is 4 sizes different the skirt. So excited to have a TNT pattern! Thanks for the encouragement that every pattern doesn't work for every body. And pattern parts and sizes are meant to be mixed to fit. I sewed a dress with fabric from Hawaii, and shockingly my husband does NOT want matching pants/shorts for our Christmas Hawaii work trip. Guess what he's getting for Christmas, next year. (Don't think I can pull it off for this year)

Married couples of a certain vintage do tend to dress alike. Tee hee! You both look great! I think you should wear coordinating outfits for the Rude Red opening. And yes, add a ruffle on the dress.

YES. Pizza is all four food groups, depending on toppings! I love a princess seamed bodice for fitting. You have so many seam lines for adjusting!

Its always a happy place in my world when a new video from you appears. There's nothing i don't love about this one. thinking of making a marcy dress for a wedding am going to because my dress will make me feel brave and not scared of going to my first indoor event with LOTS of people in a pandemic. we in the UK are hardcore but i'm a chicken.

I recycle thick see through plastic packaging so that I can place the print more accurately ALWAYS keeping the markers there to help me join pieces together.I Birdy

Very nice. I saw on a quilting video that if you use scissors on paper, but immediately wipe them down with 100% wool, the wool removes the paper residue from the scissors. It is the paper residue that attracts moisture which dulls your sissors.

@@thehandmadeharriells I don't know, but agree with you. My GUESS,, is way back sewers used to keep their scissors wrapped in an oiled cloth to keep moisture away. The lanolin in will would do that.. Since I started quilting 5 years ago, I've learned all kinds of new thing.

Hate to say it but I agree with Rob. No matching! The closest we ever get here is hubby's shirt and/or tie will match a color in my dress. Matching is for kids in Xmas photos. I do love the dress.

Channeled you last night.. I bought some wax print fabric and wasn’t sure what to do with it. I drafted a pattern using an old bodice and made a 1/2 circle pattern piece to make myself a dress. I’m taller and bustier than you and I wanted it long so I made 4 panels so I could get the length.. I would send a picture if I knew how.

Absolutely, if you feel it’s sturdy enough for a strap! I always try an idea, if it doesn’t work, that’s what the seam ripper is for 💗

😅I must have done some husband hacking to get him to wear matching outfits on camera for more than 3 seconds! Sometimes I think I’m good at math and geometry, so long as I actually don’t *DO* the math and geometry. Kind of a feel thing. Math and geometry have nothing to do with feel, which is also why I think I’m probably truly bad at both 🤣
