Hello and welcome to my sewing room!
Today I'm showing you how to make my
#6 Home Town Quilt Block in 5" and also 10" size.
I am using my latest fabric collection HOME TOWN designed by me and produced and distributed by the fabulous Riley Blake Designs.
I have given you the cutting recipe for both sizes below so be sure and click until the entire description of this video is visible below.
I am making these blocks to go into the HOME TOWN SEW ALONG QUILT which takes place on my blog every Friday and Monday during this sew along.
CLICK on this link to go to my blog:
beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com
Each tutorial I'll be showing you just one of ten blocks.
I'm also going to make several blocks of each of the ten to make a quilt for my bed and then I'll design 6 more and add them to my quilt...of course I'll show you how to make those as well!
I'll take you along on that journey with me as I sew blocks each time on my vintage featherweight sewing machine.
Thank you for joining me today:)
I hope that you enjoy our time together in my sewing room!!

What a great way to incorporate the the easy 4 patches into a block that looks more complicated, but isn’t. Thanks for sharing all of these scrappy blocks. I love them.

yay. I kept looking, hoping we'd get another tutorial today. Your daughter has a good eye, I missed the mistake in the block until she pointed it out.

Thank you very much Lori for sharing the block recipes for both sizes. That is so generous. Thinking that I may sew a few of the 5” blocks as rows when I sew the Home Town quilt seeds into a top. It’s nice to see that even a pro like you makes mistakes…we are all human and it’s very easy to do. I know it will be an easy fix but would have been nice if you showed in the video how to make it right for beginners out there. See you next time. Now I need to catch up and write all the recipes down.

Thank you Lori for these great video tutorials. You not only sell the kits, fabrics and tools to make these darling quilts but you also provide in-depth tutorial classes to show how to make them! You look fabulous with your weight loss and your new look! I didn't hardly know you at first because I'm just getting back into watching all my favorite crafting videos after not being on KZfaq for a long time.

I found the water pen really helped relax the seam where multiple seams collide. I can give it a roll and it really flattens it. Then a straight, up/down press keeps it straight.

I am really enjoying this series. I’m just on block 6 but I am learning so much. I’ve been making 1 ten inch and 2 five inch. Have no clue what I’ll do with them but everyone that even comes close to my sewing room is appropriately crooning over them. (or else) You have made this so easy that even I appear to know what I’m doing. I’m still struggling over the accurate 1/4 inch seam but you show when to trim so my blocks are beautiful. Can’t wait to start block 6

Hi. What was used before the wood clapper? The wooden clapper today comes in different sizes. I've seen large & small square ones which covers more of the block What is a good shape or size?

I told my husband to make a few out of scrap wood in the garage. Just need a block of clean wood. The wood absorbs the heat. Tailors use them. Quilters adopted them. Whatever fits easily in your hand. I have a 6" and a 12" clapper

Thanks for sharing. On a different subject entirely, can you offer your T-shirts with 3/4 length sleeves. I, like most older women with our "bat-wing upper arms", no longer wear short sleeves. I would love some quilty themed T-shirts in 100% cotton with 3/4 length sleeves and cannot find them anywhere. Thanks.
