I love watching all your videos! I want to thank you especially for this video as I always wondered how to measure for a bottom gusset in a bag. Every tutorial I have ever watched from other people gave you the measurements for their bag gussets but never explained how they arrived at that measurement. Now I know! And as you said, I will be able to change the size of my bags anytime! Thank you!

Your videos are always favourites with me. This is a particularly nice bag and I am working on my 1st one now. I am attaching the first base to the main bag and after struggling mightly to get it to fit I have changed the order of sewing. I started on the long sides, stitched both of them to the bag THEN sewed the 2 ends in place. This worked better for me.It is still a bit of a juggling act but I have finished this part of the process and am now going to restart the video to see how the lining is done. This is absolutely the very best part of video tutorials, you can replay them, pause, stitch then start again. Thank you Debbie for being so generous with your creativity.

Just made this in beautiful greens and turquoises from an old pillow case. Used iron on fusible fleece and it all worked really well. Really please and very straight forward to make. Will be adding a flap to the top and an inside pocket to my next one. Really clear and easy to follow videos - thank you so much. You've made sewing possible for a complete beginner.

What an adorable bag! The only thing that would have made this tutorial better is an intermediate step of you chasing Bobbin as she grabs one part and tries to run away with it! (Don't you just LOVE puppies???) 😁

Hi Debbie, I used this idea to make my bag thanks to your instructions. I added a 6” by 14” different fabric pocket to the front bottom of the bag (you know how we all love pockets on our bags) and it truly works out well. Will be using sewn in magnets to keep top of bag closed. I’ve purchased two of your books which gives me more styles to make so I guess I’ll be busy for a while. Love your instructions.

I made this bag but could not do the set-in bottom so I boxed the bottom corners instead. It came out really cute and I'm using it for my everyday handbag.

Wonderful ! Just learning to sew, so the details are great for this beginner . Been making a few boxed totes but I always had trouble understanding how to put the handles together so they are between the liner and the outer bag. It seems almost counterintuitive when you first start out.. thinkin almost inside out and reverse , Haha. Thanks so Much !
