In this video we are excited to launch our festive hashtag #stitchmasparty!
We are inviting you to sew an outfit for the festive period, whether it be for Christmas Day or for a Christmas Party. You can also join us for a KZfaq LIVE (date to be decided) where we will show you what we made too.
Rachel & Nikki will choose one pattern each to make but have picked their top 5 dresses and also their top 5 separates which are perfect for Christmas Parties.

Nikki you'd look fabulous in the Vogue 1506 jumpsuit and Rachel, I can't decide between the grasser 802 top or the Fibre Mood top made up in a gorgeous taffeta and both paired with the Elle trousers! Perhaps you should make both and then change at halftime!

Nikki-would love to see you in the "liberty" palazzo pant and jacket! Rachel-I would love to see you in the "Vogue "Pattern 1708 with the big bow in front and the daring back!! I have that pattern, but cannot decide on the fabric! Fun video-great to see you both! :+)

Thanks for a couple of really fun videos - I watched this and the Dresses one back to back, and this one especially brought me back to ghosts of Holiday parties past, in a fun way. I was around for a previous incarnation of Palazzo pants, mine were satin, black with white dots, and a matching fitted top with a white satin collar, circa about 1972/73 maybe. Then in the late '80s I had black satin- backed crepe sort of cigarette pants (satin side next to the skin, secretly sexy) with a shell top made with the satin side out, worn together with a very '80s big-shoulder jacket in electric blue crocodile patterned satin, very memorable so didn't get to wear it very often, but the pants & top served me for many events, with different snazzy additions. My holiday plans are such that the new cuddly PJs I bought last week are all I'm likely to need this coming season. I usually go to visit friends & family for the holidays but I'm not keen to travel yet. I am glad to see you back here & I'll be watching to see what you both choose.

In the 70's and 80's, in my young days, I made myself a black velvet suit. A jacket, a skirt, a vest / waistcoat and trousers. I wore the items as a full suit, I wore them as separates, for many years. You could also buy shantung for dressmaking. This fabric draped very well, with good structure. The one side was patterned and textured, the other side was smooth and shiny. I thought shantung would be a wonderful choice for the tuxedo type jumpsuit.

Great recommendations as always. Dalston Mill have loads of cotton velvets in different colours and weights. Perfect for the suits you are talking about. I’ve just bought some wine coloured lightweight velvet for a party top. Can’t wait to see your finished clothes.

I purchased the vogue pattern v1708 and was wondering if you ever uploaded a video of you making it. I'm just a beginner so I could really use a visual aide but I'm having trouble finding one

I love your choices.Nikkis first jacket with the pin tuck effect seam is gorgeous.However,I don't think it would suit a velvet because when you stitch the pin-tuck effect the nap of the velvet will become distorted. The simple jumpsuit Nikki chose is wow,seriously wow! The volume of this vlog seems low .x
