Here we are working with the Bernina L850 and explaining how the differential feed works. The differential feed is part of the reason why people purchase and use an overlocker.

Hi, thanks for the demo. I am thinking of getting a bernina serger/coverstitch combined. Do you know what the differences are between the L850 and L890? I am an experienced dressmaker/soft furnishings and quilter maker, currently using separate server and a separate coverstitch machines by Janome. . Thanks.

That’s a good question. There is a huge difference between the 890 and 850. The biggest being the 850 can not do a cover stitches or a chain stitch. The other is the 890 has the touch screen which comes with some brains/computer so when you select the stitch you are using it shows you step by step who to set up your machine and many things it changes those setting for your such as (tensions, differential feed dogs, and stitch length) just to name a few. But both 850 and 890 sew beautifully 🥰.

@@sewingwithcodyandpete8651 thanks so much for the reply, that's helps a lot. In the UK we are only at the stage that we can pre-order the L850 and I would like chain stitch facility, so you have helped me to decide which is best as I want the coverstitch too. Have a great week-end. Thanks again!
