Scottish men are braw. The accent, yes. But they have a magical mixture of fun, self-depreciation, boastfulness, and deep passion for their culture. I love the storytelling and singing they are famous for. Looks are just a lucky break. The real package is inside their hearts and souls--that's what makes them sexy to me. Great video, Shaun.

I totally 💯 agree! The humble confidence... honesty, loyalty, flirtatious friendliness, outgoing personality, integrity, the accent is a very pleasant bonus for sure! It’s the confidence without even a hint of arrogance. Masculine without a bit of sexism. Flirty without the creepy feeling and just that all around excellence really 😂😍🤣😍💯

@@angangieangela5216 Most of that might be true except flirting, most Scots don't really flirt and aren't known for it, it's just not something culturally open in Scottish society compared to Yankee American society say. In-fact it's one of the first things foreign people notice about them.

One of my best friends is originally from Glasgow. When I first met him I wasn’t physically attracted to him at all. As I’ve gotten to know him though, he’s become incredibly sexy. It's the qualities that people mentioned that you read off in the video. He has a heart of gold, and will do absolutely anything for a friend that needs him. Hell, often even for a stranger. He's the kind of person that is late to social events because he couldn't resist pulling off the road to help a stranded motorist. He’s kind and loyal, almost to a fault, and so unbelievably humble. These things quickly made him become very attractive to me, and if we both weren’t in relationships I would definitely be after one with him. The accent doesn’t hurt either. :)

So, I'm currently studying in Scotland as an exchange student. The dating scene is different from what I'm used to back in the States. It seems like its more upfront, like, no one is trying to weasel their way into getting you to do something you don't like. The banter is lovely, but it did take some getting used to; I was confused at first, but picked up on it quickly. The accent is just so wonderful; I love how it sounds like Scottish people roll their r's. My favorite words to hear are Girl and Cool. I've been having an amazing time in Glasgow and I'm sad that I only have a year to experience it all.

I married a Scot. Humm I think the accent is musical and we tend to hear only the music and not the crap they say. Sexy? No. We fall for the idea of Scotland not the reality. I could go on and on. When he moved here all the women would get dreamy eyed when he spoke. I was told, "I could listen to that accent forever!" I would say, it depends on what he is saying. One thing you have to brace for is a razor tongue...not much education...and more 'f" words than you will ever hear coming from all ages. Glad to be back in the states. He has gotten much more civil since moving here.

I'm American, married to a scot for 14 years now... what I can say from my own experience is that Scottish men are more "i don't give a fu*k" so that confidence in themselves but also their not taking themselves too seriously is also a huge plus. My husband has an air of strength about him, he's not a ton bigger or taller than I am, but he makes me feel safe. There is a ruggedness that Scottish men have, I think it comes from the guttural nature of the accent that is inherently masculine and sexy, even the more lyrical accents have that, but then also sound like you are being serenaded when spoken to. Also, most Scottish men I know, are both forward modern thinkers in that they are willing to do "women's work" like laundry etc..but they are also chivalrous, opening doors walking on the roadside of the pavement etc. So you feel respected as an equal, but also that they will fight your corner should you wish/need them to as well. What I also know, is that they may be gruff on the exterior, but they are really great big teddy bears, willing to show vulnerability, to hold a hand, and to both fight and love passionately.

That depends on the part of America they're from, or the part of the world (outside the U.S.) you might be talking about. I know a few people in Australia who find Northern U.S. accents (such as New York) very sexy. I know people in Canada who find the deep south (Georgia, Louisiana) accents sexy. It all depends. Watching Gerard Butler right now, in the movie "A Family Man"..Yes, I've seen him in other movies and he is one good looking guy, but in this movie he portrays a man who finds that he loves his family more than anything else in the world..That, in my opinion, is what should be important, and I think that, more than his looks, Jamie Fraser in Outlander, shows us that he would do whatever is necessary to protect his loved ones...*That* makes him sexy, in my book..

Shaun, don't sell yourself short! You are a very attractive man and the fact that you have that Edinburgh accent just makes you even more attractive. You should be a voice over for the navigation systems - the only option I have on my device is a very generic "Craig" who hardly has any accent at all. If a strong Scottish man were giving me directions on how to reach my new doctors office, the trip would be much more enjoyable.

As an American, I can say the accent goes a long way. We love accents, and the Scottish accent is more rogue and carefree than an English accent. Also, the independent spirit is a big thing. The wars for independence. We Americans identify with that. The idea of bravery and the fight for freedom against the odds. And then there's the kilt. The idea that the man bits are just left wild and free underneath is a bit dangerous, yeah? Also for Americans there is the ancestry connection. So many of us have Scottish ancestry. I recently did my DNA test and it came back 100% Scottish and Irish. So there is the lure of the "old country" and who you might meet there to give you a proper tour.

I melt when I hear the accent! I think there’s something so sexy and amazing about the Scottish men. People need to realize that everyone in the world should be real and themselves. These romantic movies and books etc show a really fake fantasy of life and people start looking at others with outlandish ideas of what normal should be or what a person should look like. Any man that is REAL and down to earth is sexy! It’s the way you carry yourself (man or woman) that sets yourself apart from others.

But both being of good sense of humor we laughed at ourselves and mostly texted . When I did finally go to Scotland to meet him it was great ! So sweet you guys are ,and have manners too .I found the Scottish people in general are very kind and at the same time very open with opinions, they passionately love and they passionately hate ! Deep convictions and truly loyal . I HAD TO literally LOL when you said that Scottish men are too loud in bed ! HA HA HAAA !!!!! I can't speak for all of them ,but my now fiance IS loud !! I spent three weeks in Scotland - an awesome horse riding tour through the border towns and beyond - then an Outlander Film Tour through Inverness Tours - and then went to the Clan Lamont Gathering in Dunoon. It was a bucket list trip and I am forever grateful that I took it - Yes, your accent is awesome, but more than that, EVERYBODY was so gracious and helpful. We didn't meet one person who didn't bend over backwards to help us when needed. If it took Sam to bring tourists into your beautiful countryside, hats off to him - but really, Diana Gabaldon, the author who created this character, has to be acknowledged. I'm not sure she had any idea the impact her books would make. On a side note, we need a video on driving in Scotland because those small roads in the highlands are pretty darn scary when you are driving on the left side of the road....just saying! Perhaps a go pro and narration explaining the various lines - and those damn round a bouts. Anyway, keep up the good vlogs. Love them.

I don't think you need to worry too much about people visiting with such high expectations that they end up disappointed. There are some people that live in a fantasy world; but most of us, I think, can enjoy the fantasy without mistaking it for reality. I generally enjoy people for who they are. I think every country has a bit of a "national character"--not that everyone is the same, but there are general trends in regional & national populations. IMO Scots tend to be direct, have great senses of humor & are able to poke fun at themselves, & are proud of who they are--all things that I admire. There's a charming toughness about them. I love language in general, so I thoroughly enjoy Scottish accents & ways of expressing things. I don't know if my impression is accurate or not, but Scotsmen strike me as being comfortable with their masculinity-they seem to be manly without being either arrogant or apologetic about it. That is SO refreshing to me as an American. Our entire culture here seems to have plunged into a state of ridiculous confusion over gender, masculinity, femininity, & how we “should” behave. You guys seem to just be who you are, whether anyone approves or likes it or not. :)

Absolutely! I love being an American woman, but miss the confident, strong, rugged, loyal, selfless, manly men. I know they still exist, but they seem few and far between. Scottish, Irish, and more rural English men who work with their hands and earn an honest day's wages are my kind of men. It's sad that we American women feel we have to look outside our nation to find those men of worth. Maybe we can get our culture back on track. To the aforementioned countries, please keep those values and traditions of men alive. To those real men in America, help be strong role models in your children's lives and raise a stronger generation of great men.

@@sheaholloway9537 I agree with you about American men, at least the latter half of the Baby Boomers, which are my generational dating cohort. A lot of American men can be very entitled, snotty, and judgmental about women, especially those who do not meet their unrealistic high standards. The character of their girlfriends is of minor importance compared to how attractive and THIN you are. If you are a woman who is rounder, curvier, or more buxom than the standard size A cup, small-muscled stick-figured slat models held up to us as the required model of physical perfection while we get criticized for not measuring up, you are in the dating dog house. If you are not trophy wife bait or look like a gym trainer in America, American men who will only deign to lay with or marry the very best, thinnest, flattest, and genetically perfect looking, any American women can forget about dating or marriage to the swelled head, nasty, Simon Cowell types. A lot of romantically-inclined US women never get to date or marry because we failed miserably on the perfection genetics test. Traveling multiple times to Scotland was a total happy revelation over the years. It turned out that I (and other “not perfect 10” women like me) was not the problem or reason I was date-deprived and long-term-relationship-free. I came over to Scotland for technology conferences in Glasgow followed by a long vacation time spent at several Edinburgh Festivals and Fringe activities. I met a lot of gorgeous Scotsmen with a variety of regional Scots accents in my travels in a variety of blond, brunette, and ginger coloring. They were inevitably kind, gentle, cuddly, modest about themselves, and most importantly didn’t consider women of any size and shape beneath their notice or unworthy of being dated, laid, or married. I was very turned on being around sexually attractive men who listened to what I had to say, were honest for a change, took me seriously and respected me as a person, and who were blissfully delightful to be with in the bedroom. Every one of the Scotsmen I dated seriously in my travels were enormously endowed in the man department, were fully into the noisy and unbridled romantic joy of the moment, and totally made me melt in their muscular arms with their various sexy Scottish regional accents. There was not this sense of vicious, arrogant entitlement that so revolts me about most American men I have met and dated with no success over the years. Scottish honesty and kindness are the most irresistible aphrodisiacs of all. The whole delightful composite of accent, kinder culture, and tenderness has swept me off my feet for years.

This is my personal take. It's the accent hands down, first thing you notice about Scottish men that is unique and therefore sexy. A sense of vulgar humor is next with an extensive vocabulary of curse words. Constant complaining, well I had no idea that was a cultural thing but it is definitely part of my Scottish man's personality. Heart of gold is also true and very loyal. And if your Scottish man happens to be a ginger, then you get a double bonus! From your American neighbor in a long-term relationship with someone who is Scottish.

I'm going through your videos, and I can't help but comment here. 😂 I currently have a Scottish boyfriend, and obviously I love a lot of things about him. The one that started it all is me hearing his accent (he's from Glasgow). It's just soooo sexy to my ears. 😂 And as I got to know him better, I definitely enjoy his storytelling, his humour, his way of teasing/having a banter with me, and his way of caring for me. He's a complete package, indeed. 💙 I plan to move to Glasgow soon, and it'll be my first time seeing him in person, and I can't wait!

I think Shaun, you just demonstrated one of the great charms of Scottish men... being unaware of their attractiveness... I think that is so manly, being devoid of vanity. Completely unaware and not caring about their looks but naturally beautiful. You definitely have above average looks, no doubt about it. My impression of Scottish men: rugged yet cuddly. I think the culture makes Scottish men quite manlier on average... being unaware of their physical attractiveness in general, confidence definitely... whether confident to be an extrovert or confidently introverted...naturally romantic and straightforward, no conceit. And my impression of Scottish men is also loyal to a fault when it comes to family. And being brave and protective... I think those are ideals they aspire to. Um... what's wrong with loud? Isn't that a good thing? I don't think that's a bad thing. I think it adds to the sensations. Kind of amplifies the pleasure in my opinion... I mean we women are auditory creatures. Some of us love hearing our man's pleasure.

Great video, though. It definitely made me smile, and giggle a bit too. For me, it's the accents, the storytelling, the confidence, the kind welcoming nature, and the humor. Scottish people are just wonderful people, and who wouldn't find that sexy? Also, im glad u included all Scottish people in this, not just the men. Scottish women are pretty amazingly hot too. =)

Back when I was in Scotland (Aberdeenshire, late '90s) with a boyfriend, I saw a few hot guys, but not many, unfortunately. My boyfriend (ok, he was more a friend with benefits) had the HOTTEST voice... Not just his Highland accent, but even the cadence of his voice. He was shorter than me, with short hair (I love long hair) and a wee bit overweight, but that voice!!! OMG! And when he rented a kilt for a party in Aberdeen one night near Christmas, he was quite popular as only 3 men at this big party were in kilts. One was in plaid pants, the others plain tuxedos. Ok, he was also the most popular there because he came with a tall (next to him, I had on stilletto heels) thin American woman (yeah, me). I was VERY popular in Scotland, but things have changed in 20 years, so I'm sure it would be different now. American women back then weren't seen much in the Aberdeenshire area, so I got a LOT of attention. As for sex... I can only speak for myself on Scottish men... Not bad, not bad at all. (and my next 'Fate of the True Vampires' book will be set in Scotland in the late 1600's during the massacre at Glen Coe. I started writing it back in the 90's then put it aside. Now I am finishing it at last... Sorry, Shaun, didn't mean that as a spam on your vlog. I'm a big fan).

Also, according to Stephen and Rab, Scottish men are well endowed.😁(a rumor I will never question) The accent definitely is a plus. Also, why is noise in bed considered a negative trait?? Isn't that how you know you're doing things well?? 😘I honestly don't watch Outlander and I don't find Sam Heughan attractive (I might be alone here). However, I've always loved James McAvoy. I've not got my family line back to that castle yet. I've got to Holland, but I'm hoping to make the jump across the water! We have Highland Games here in Seattle Washington and other spots in Washington State and hearing the bagpipes and watching it all just makes me happy. You look quite what we foreigners would expect a Scotsman to be like! I love Scotland, Probably what people find attractive in Scottish men is the fact that Scottish men are real men, the accent, the strength, the pride, kilts (you should wear them more often, not just on very formal occasions). As for the women, many are quite pretty, without taking themselves too seriously, they are friendly, of course their accent...

Kilts were introduced into Scotland from Europe in the fifteenth century. The then went out of fashion everywhere except in the Scottish Highlands. The imposition of kilts, tartans and clans on the Scottish Lowlands was a case of non-physical cultural genocide. This was perpetrated by Sir. Walter Scott and accomplices, in an attempt to persuade the Georgian crown that we were not dangerous. We were and still are dangerous.

Ladies I lived in Scotland for 2 months per year for 3 yrs (6 months in total). I am here to tell u tht whatever u imagine Scottish men to be, it doesn't do them the justice. Those men r beyond sexy, hansome, tall, and rugged "it kinda makes u feel like u r living in an old romantic novel". Thy r so chiverous, sweet, kind and most importantly so damn funny. In my experience with them, when u r around a Scottish man u know u r in the presence of a real man, which makes u feel like a real woman. Yes I know it sounds crazy cuz we r women at all times, bt believe me for whtever reason it jst feel different. TBH it is not jst the men there, Scottish pple in general r one of the nicest, most welcoming pple I have ever met and I am well travelled.
