I'm a Londoner from that time. I was a young teenager when the Sex Pistols started getting noticed and then exploded in 1976/7. I agree with John, London was a f****g tough, dark and heavy place to grow up, late 70s and especially the 80s!!! Britain was not awesome, it was awful and horrendous!! Years full of hatred, paranoia, have and have nots!! Druuugs and overdoses...Not awesome at all!! Sex Pistols changed everything....but it really was 'No fun', as John and Iggy honestly quote! But, since the pandemic years and No freedom, I find myself strangely nostalgic for those very dark years, where at least we had the freedom to do what the F*** we liked, even though it was dark and heavy!!! Now things are 'lighter' but the youngsters haven't got the freedom we had and the poor things, haven't got any decent music!!! We had both!!!!

LOL Did you see how John behaved for most of the interview?? Poor Steve looked like a combination uncomfortable mixed with severe consternation. Sick or not, I think it was simply Steve not wanting to be with John for longer than he has to be.
