Not the doctor's job. Nurse or a respiratory therapist is supposed to teach patient/family on trach care.

Super fantastic! Thank you for the video. You have quite the teaching voice and I LOVE how thorough you were explaining every single thing you did. I feel like if I watch this a few more times, I might be ready. Wish me luck!!

Depth of sunctioning is so important, generally 2 cms more than trachy size otherwise you are just causing discomfort and damage, and fear in the patient! Trachy size and depth of suctioning is so important!

@ Have you ever tried to listen to a detailed instructional video with someone wearing a mask? It's frustrating and needlessly painstakingly difficult. Calm down, Karen. She did fantastic job, despite however you "were taught".

I’m very observant and pay attention to all nurses, cnas, mds, actions in the hospital where my spouse is. When they do the procedure you are showing they never use the sterile gloves but the ones are in the boxes near the door. A Scared spouse in one of Las Vegas hospitals.

It’s a great video with good content but the suction catheter when inserted inside shouldn’t be moved round i guess because it makes the patient cough and can hurt them. and if the suction catheter is folded round like she did in her hands, is suction is 100%?

Some trachs are fenestrated. They have a little hole on the tubing inside that allows you to speak.

@juanleonardo33594 жыл бұрын
Not all people with tracheostomy loses their ability to speak. Educate yourself before you open your mouth. Dummy
@ayanahanna184 жыл бұрын
i think better educate ur self, shes giving a tutorial demo ofcourse she must show and trach the proper and reality way, she must noted not all patients with trach can speak, she must not that either on speaking valve or not, and first of all, are we taking this demo for doing this procedure for dummy??? theres other way u can check like wrist id band if correspond with the patient name on case file if patient with trache without speaking valve or on non fenestrated tube, depends on what type of trach tube shes on , its not simply just like that, i think better they have to review their video bfore posting and u besure u know what ur talking and better educate more of urself not in a dummy😏
