Society for Neuroscience archival interview with the late American physicist, molecular biologist, and behavioral geneticist Seymour Benzer. The interview took place Feb. 12-13, 2003. This video is part of the Society for Neuroscience's autobiography series, "The History of Neuroscience in Autobiography," detailing the lives and discoveries of eminent senior neuroscientists.

To anyone who found this video interesting and benzer's unique sense of the scientific method inspiring check out Jonathan Weiner's Time, Love, Memory. It focuses not only on Benzer's personal journey through the science of genetics but also on the legacy that he has left throughout the entire scientific community. Great Read

Actually, read it twice in the last 12 months. Just the type of book I love. I'm planning on reading "Reconceiving the Gene: Seymour Benzer's Adventures in Phage Genetics" as soon as I get time. I'm in the middle of "The Deep History of Ourselves" by Joseph LeDoux and "The Workshop and the World" by Robert P. Crease....while also reading the pdf of 'The Life and Letters of George John Romanes'....in-between. I usually have a main book (usually Evolutionary Theory, Genetics etc.) and two side books (science, history, philosophy, politics etc.) that I read in-between the main one.
