@truthseekerchris8766 Talking random stuff man. Herbert had 4 drives in the 2nd half. He got into great field goal range twice (1 made, 1 miss). He had one 3 and out. This is all with having 13 yards rushing on 8 carries. Can you imagine being up by 20+ points and still having to throw it more times than your opposing QB (who's trailing the entire game) because you can't get 2 YPC from your run game? Also, Defense allowed a score on every drive in the 2nd half, but it's Herbert's fault...

Not every game ends with an offensive possession. Statistics don’t lie, doesn’t help the offense when you’re giving up so many points and constantly have to be in a shootout or play catch up. Sure Herbert, Kennen, Eckler have all made mistakes but most of it falls on bad coaching. One player isn’t going to go out there and win the game for you, it’s a team effort. Doesn’t take a casual to see that. all I’m saying is you can’t blame their entire record on Herbert alone, the whole team has problems which can be fixed under the right coach, and ofcourse probably let go some of the players that have not contributed to their success.

The takes on this show leave a lot to be desired. Staley is well overdue in being fired yet they still find a way to make it about Justin Herbert and take a dig at him. If anything the team without him playing shows how bad the team actually is and how he was actually the only thing holding things up. The Chargers need to take a long look in the mirror to their big contracts on their roster and the players not equaling up to their resume from their on field play or always being injured. It feels like the only one with the most palettable takes is James and Shady. Joy just be winging it and rambling. Acho does put time and thought into his takes.. I'll give him that ...sometimes he hits the nail on the head but sometimes he's way off the mark. I will also say the show is entertaining and light but that's also it's fault.. it doesn't dive in deep with real debate or substance. No talk of Staley's egregious debacles over his time with the team that called his job to be called into question, no talk about potential candidates to take his position...Just an opportunity to blame Herbert again.

There, you had a black coach with what we could tell would be a franchise QB and a great 1st season. Instead of building on the continuity you fire him and find the cheapest, most unqualified white guy to replace him. Mind-boggling. No one ever mentions that either because the team doesn't have enough fans, I assume. They need to get rid of that ownership.

I never wanted to clock somebody in the face as hard as I do with McCoy and Acho. Ekeler was a good running back for one season, and he was only good because of his receiving ability. As a pure runner, he is terrible. Saying this roster is elite is ridiculous based on how they played this season. Half of those players they named are gonna be gone next year. However this coaching job is still intriguing because of Herbert. So make it make since, if you’re going to talk so much smack about Herbert and still say this jobs intriguing because of him, then your takes about Hebert a ridiculous. Saying Hebert is the issue just shows how blind you are. Saying he needs to carry this team in his back,…. that’s what he has been doing since he came into the league. You literally just saw how they looked without him for once, they literally looked worse than the panthers. Hebert should get a sliver of the blame, but I’m talking about 2% of it. The rest of it is on Staley and TT.

NAHHHHHHH. I LIKE Herbert, a LOT. But he HAS TALENT AROUND HIM. Definitely on offense. NO TEAM IS FLAWLESS. Look around you dude. The NFL has more TALENT parity than ever before. Bills? Look wobbly. Bengals? Look wobbly. Chiefs? Look wobbly. Chargers? HAD THREE WINNABLE GAMES that Herbert blew. Period. Staley is TRASH. He's had a bottom 5 defense every season he's been the Chargers Head Coach. BUT the Chargers passing offense, in terms of talent at TE, WR, and RECEIVING back (i agree that ekeler isn't the best in-between the tackles but he's a super elite receiving back). Lamar Jackson TOOK BUMS as a ROOKIE to the playoffs. Lamar has won UNANIMOUS MVP with what weapons, Mark Andrews? Lamar has WON a playoff game. Lamar is only one of players EVER to put up 500+ yards BY HIMSELF in a playoff game (the only two other players to do that are Brady The GOAT, Big Ben, and now Lamar). Herbert has had MORE talent and "help" in general than Lamar Jackson has. He needs to elevate his play in CLOSE, WINNABLE games. With a BETTER coach, he will play better because he has all the tools but they fired Anthony Lynn, a guy who put up a TOP 10 DEFENSE in his last season as HC of the Chargers for the low IQ fraud that is Staley. If you're gonna blame ANYBODY it's the ownership. And, also, Charger fans should have been calling for his head from day 1. Staley SUCKS. Herbert isn't clutch though. His rookie year, led the league in one-score game losses. Sophmore year, finished top 5 in the league in one-score game losses. THIS season....(I'm sure you can guess what I'm about to say). Thats on the QB. Are you CLUTCH or NOT? Herbert, if the playoff game is any indication (all he needed in the 2nd half was an EXTRA FG and they put that game to bed), is NOT CLUTCH.

Acho has a personal friendship with Brandon Staley. I don't expect him to put a fair, honest blame on Staley publicly. He was really excited when Brandon got the HC job. Even rival Charger fans don't want Herbert & Co to get a good coach - that's pretty telling where talent is. He should excuse himself from these Charger discussions. But he decides to make career out of it and doesn't even disclose his personal friendship that is giving him an unconscious bias.

Did we watch the same video or are you trolling? He literally said Staley is a friend of the Acho family and was his brother's coach. He also said Staley didn't hold up his end of the deal multiple times during this discussion saying the defense wasn't good. You go into a video with an agenda and you're gonna hear what you want to hear. Perhaps you are the one with an unconscious bias here. I suggest rewatching the video.

Yah and 1 of the turnovers is a hail marry in end of 1H as time ran out. It is not a consequential turnover. The O got the ball with 10 seconds left before half and the Chargers went for the endzone with 1 play. Most teams would take a knee. But not Herbert and his arm throw. Hail Mary's are usually catches or interceptions.

Herbert is an easy target since last year's loss to the Jags. But he's carrying this team, there is no doubt. He can't just do it all by himself, and he's still really young, maybe not assertive enough. Notice how Mahomes (and I'm a Chiefs fan) doesn't get an ounce of blame, although we lost close games we should've won, too (Eagles, Packers, Bills). To be honest, I'm afraid Herbert is stuck with a badly run franchise. Let's hope you guys get a good coach who knows how to build and manage a roster. Peace, Jordan.

Good luck to the future GM. Bosa, Mack, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams account for 25% of the cap and Herbert's contract hasnt even kicked in yet. herbert has some blame , but who's going to stand in there game after game with no blocking at the end of the game and your coaches are calling plays to only one receiver who is being double teamed , no back in the backfield to block , qb has one second to get the ball off and the defense knows which direction the ball is going because their coach has coached them for this situation , no fullback to block for your rb so he's tough but can only take so many hits head-on because he is not a power back. teams have a great opprotunity to win close games early in the year if they are prepared for situation football and the bolts have failed very bad early in the season

Joy really only made one glaring error in her analysis: in the 1st half, the Raiders' lead had everything to do with the Chargers' offensive play as there were multiple turnovers leading to shorter fields and scores. I was very disappointed in everyone's initial points except Acho's, as he is correct: their best talent is expensive, aging, oft hurt and frequently underperforming. I doubt Eckeler is there next year and his current backups were awful this year when they were starters. Mack & Bosa's years are odd because you'd expect the performances to be opposite, Bosa with the 13+ sacks and Mack slowing down or injured. You cannot count on this level of performance from Mack next year. The Chargers also do have an identity as an organization: always top tier talent, always falling well short of expectation. That goes back to Fouts days when they blew the lid off prior offensive performances but had equally bad defenses. They don't even have a dedicated home field. It's a bad organization whose perfect climate (at least when they were in San Diego) hides the problems until Sundays. Padres are the same way. More talent on paper, less production on the field.
