Sit back and let the evening go with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the 1978 musical spectacular featuring stunning reinterpretations of over twenty classic Beatles songs!
The one and only Billy Shears (multi-platinum recording artist Peter Frampton) and his best friends the Hendersons (Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Bee Gees) are four young men from the quaint little town of Heartland. With superstardom calling, this fabulous foursome leaves Heartland - and Billy's beloved Strawberry Fields (Sandy Farina) - vulnerable to mean Mr. Mustard, who steals Sgt. Pepper's magical instruments for a fiendish, "evil force that would poison young minds, pollute the environment, and subvert the democratic process." It's up to our heroes to save everything they hold dear with the power of music, kindness, and heart.

@Jacob Flores you must think you're so wise, telling widely known things as if they were news... probably everyone who saw this video knows the movie was a flop, and if she recognizes a Rocky Horror vibe in it has nothing to do with the movie's outcome. Said he and the Bee Gees were begging to get out of it because everyone knew it was going to be a terrible film but they couldn't get out of their contracts. Rehearsals and working on the set was pure torture. The ONLY cool part of the movie was Aerosmith

The only good thing that came out of this otherwise horrible movie was the chance for Steve Martin to prep for the role of Orrin Scrivello, DDS.
@MaximilliansHammer
@MaximilliansHammer Жыл бұрын
I'd argue his turn in Little Shop is just as horrible as his rendition of Maxwell's Silver Hammer. The original role of Orin Scrivello was way more low-key sinister, not bonkers manic zany. And Maxwell's Silver Hammer really only works as a song if you play it straight, and let the dissonance between the dark events and the corny style do the work. 70s Steve Martin is just so tonally wrong for both.

The saddest aspect of this movie is it accelerated the decline of Peter Frampton's career. He was a brilliant guitarist and performer and deserved better.
@pinkfreud62
@pinkfreud62 4 жыл бұрын
I don't think that had alot to do with it. Other people with great careers who appeared in here weren't affected by one bad movie. If you're good enough, your rep can withstand a clinker or two whether it be a cheesy flick or a lame album. Aerosmith proves that for one.
@denniseudela411
@denniseudela411 3 жыл бұрын
@Carrie... to put things in perspective, Frampton was already on the decline when this movie came out. It definitely didn't help him to resurge but he needed a monster hit like Baby I Love Your Way on his own at that time to get his career back. However, his next album This Is Where I Belong had no solid track at all, thus Frampton Ended Dead (after a most successful LIVE album Frampton Comes Alive!) Sad... he never recovered after that...

@JeffreyPiatt
@JeffreyPiatt 8 ай бұрын
@@MrNrj6490 that quote likely damaged it's chances in theaters since when this came out in theaters the Beatles were broken up but all 4 were still alive and were invited to the premiere (ironically they weren't asked if they wanted have cameo appearances it would have been fitting to have one of the original band play the old Sgt. Pepper) Lennon and Harrison declined to watch the film at all and only Paul and Ringo watched it and disapproved of it. The stage play script they were adapting takes liberties interpreting the songs and some the Music does not match what is going on in the Scene.

Loved this movie and had to watch this part again. I was disappointed Alice Copper did not play such a great role in the movie.

Funny thing is that the large majority of these dancers were in Grease which was done by the same production company(Robert Stigwood Organisation) and very close to each other.I remember when this came out it was gone pretty fast from theaters.

My Discovision copy of Frankenstein had Side 4's deadside contain either side 2 or 3. Blam1, if you're watching this, this deadside had this song on it.

When I die and meet John and Yoko it won't be so civil,when he died in 1980 and everyone was crying I was " Wtf cares and that was before knowing all his dirty lil secrets,he was "The POS Beatle" When I meet George I'll cry,when I meet Ringo I'll spend time asking him to reenact Caveman.

Barry Gibb said there was no script, no direction everyone coked up to the gills , Frampton said he could tell early on this was gonna be a neturon bomb , the Beatles shouldn't have been messed with like this.. RSO Records was riding high off Grease and Sat Night Fever and could do no wrong.. I remember seeing this in the theater .. unwatchable .. made me understand why punk rock finally took off in America.. fun to look back as an oddity time capsule of 70s excess

the scene has Dr.Maxwell Edison singing about his ability to kill people with super stealth with his Silver Hammer in his youth while visually showing him demonstrating a accurate depiction of the American medical system if we had magic brass instruments and silver hammers that made rich old people in to young boy scouts cosplayers going to visit a Alice cooper concert.
