they are actually from the game beatmania iidx 16 empress. they appear in a song in the game called smooooch, by kors k. smooooch is also the name of the three characters. the reason they are here is because bemani (Konami’s series of rhythm games that includes beatmania iidx, ddr, and pop n music) likes to crossover songs and characters from their other games, and this specific version of pop n music which is what this animation is based off of (pop n music 19 tune street) is where smooooch made their first crossover appearance in the pop n music series (sorry if i 🤓’d too much lol)

honestly the game is kind of hard to get into (LITERALLY) 😭 its like rly unaccessible to most ppl unless u live in korea or japan . Like sure ppl can emulate the psp or gameboy versions but i honestly dont consider those popn games lmao ,, psp version is genuinely like really hard to play imo…. the actual cab is also like, really difficult to play in general (the harder modes)But yea, its mostly ppl who find the artstyle appealing i doubt half of these ppl actually wanna play the game . Only reason im mad its getting popular is bc now its gonna be a lot harder to find controllers and merch if ppl DO try and get into the game 😅 but i think more ppl should know abt it, and im actually surprised its taken this long !!

@@maxwelltehcat in a perfect world maybe 😭😭💔 But Konami is super gatekeepy tbh . Literally if u play a popn cab , pretty much the first thing that pops up on the screen is a text saying something along the lines of : “ this game is for sale and use in japan/korea only. the copyrighted music/character/art work are separately owned by authors. the use of this game outside the territory is strictly prohibited.” Which is crazy … But ig konami assumes it wouldn’t do well in the west (personally i believe this as well , even if the game is getting popular recently I doubt it’ll ever become popular enough for it to genuinely be profitable over there) But it’s a shame most of us don’t get to experience playing on a cab 😕

@@AwesomeYenaa song got reposted with a pop’n ad as the video and it blew up on tiktok with like a million views honestly all i really saw come out of it was a spike in mimi and nyami fanart which i think its cool this song is introducing people to bemani but im not that deep into pop’n so who knows maybe new fans are murdering people or something

really sad when small fandoms get infiltrated by fake fans. i feel very bad for the fandom.

@@_BubblGum_ 99% of the fake fans already left and moved on to the next trend tbh 😭 if youre outside japan and korea you have to go through the nine circles of hell to even get the game and then the difficulty curve is so steep that no one who came because of the song could be bothered to learn so its just regular youtuber comments bs at this point (“whos here from [x]?”)
