Today is actually the 4th of July, 2017 -- America's birthday -- and it is sooooooooo hot and humid -- just awful. So I thought I would use that as a good excuse to laze around and watch youtube videos. Jeanette, this project is lovely. You'll think I'm a nut, but I almost cried when you showed the snippet of fabric from your daughter's dress. Our house burned down, and all of my relatives are deceased, and so I had everything from my parents at my house -- but from the rubble, there was a box, and inside were my son's little oshgosh jeans he wore all the time(he's 26 now) -- because I loved them and he looked so cute -- so I absolutely understand why you saved the little skirt, and how precious the material you used was to you. Everything you make is wonderful, but this little book is so special because you made it with so much love -- be well, cheers -- Patricia

Goodness Jeanette! I didn't want this to end! :) such a pretty fabric lace book! So colorful it was like I was walking in a garden of flowers with a cottage waiting for me to enter. Isn't it fun to take something like a pants leg and turn it in to something so beautiful. I loved all the eyelet you used. I have a big collections of vintage eyelet laces that I need to put them to use. This made me want to start a lace journal. I am working on my red, white and blue paper journal. But I will be adding some laces and trim to it. I still have never made a fabric book. :) I sure liked the style of this one. with the flip over closer. Your book is gorgeous Jeanette I think you were right not to add dangles it's perfect as it is. I don't add them as much as I use to, it almost felt a sin if you didn't add dangles when I first started lol. The effect can be just as interesting with out them. I love your little book, that style of cover with the flap wrapping around is so...I wanna say romantic...I dunno, anyways just lovely. I like the clever use of a shirt front opening as a pocket...I shall tuck that idea away :) You know how you stood it up at the end to display and pointed out how round it is? I suddenly saw it as a pillow...(decorative/art pillow of course) Be cool way to display a larger soft lace book like that and of course it would have the secret of pages inside...anyways off on a tangent haha Thank-you for sharing, enjoyed this!!!!
