Jen, I use two pieces of parchment paper to heat and bond the squares together. Place the squares between the two pieces of parchment paper and save your iron and ironing board from excess glue. Change the papers as needed. Fun project.

I love these! I wanted to let you know what I do when I get those little pesky spidery glue threads. Once I finish the project I use a hair dryer to melt away those pesky things. This works for me whenever I use a hot glue gun. Merry Christmas to all the Shabby Fabrics family!

You might consider a dowel stick to press fabric against. Wrap the fabric around the dowel and add glue to one strip then join the second strip on top while press against the dowel. Very pretty ornament to create. Thank you for sharing.

Love your videos as always. Thanks for all your hard work. But I have a ? Do both squares need the Heat N bond Ultra? And then bond them? (Meaning there will be 2 layers of Heat N Bond Ultra when ironing the 2 fabric squares together)

I was wondering how well these will hold up in our hot attics over the south Texas summers. I'm worried that every place it's connected by the glue gun won't hold in storage. Has anyone tried to put small stiches to keep it together in case the glue doesn't?

That is an idea to try to stitch them if you feel the glue won't hold up in the heat. The glue will be easier though! From our research you should be fine to use the glue. You can always keep them in a closet of the home if you don't trust the heat too. Hope this helped! Thanks for your comment! - Abby

Fuse two fat quarters together & cut into (6) 7-inch squares or (9) 6-inch squares.

Thank you for the project. On my way to the store for supplies and trying to figure out the difference between the two heat and bond. What did I miss in the tutorial?

Hi Trisha! We used the Heat N Bond Ultra for this project because of the stronger hold. Heat N Bond lite gives a lighter hold and we use that for our applique projects. Hope that helps! ✨ -Michelle

Oh, okay! They are both the Heat N Bond Ultrahold product. One link is for 17"x1yd and the other product is 17"x3yd- we have two different sizing options, depending on how many of these snowflakes you intend to make! Hope that clears it up! ✨ -Michelle

I am wondering why the adhesive needs to be on each piece...wouldn’t it bond to the other fabric that’s plain?

Hi Sally - We chose to add the extra layer of Heat'n Bond to create a stiffer, more stabilized look for our snowflakes. Hope this makes sense! -Michelle
