I liked seeing the test cuts with the short sword. It's a rare thing. I wish more people did it.

So much ready energy, and it's there. Every day you possess the chi to cut the tameshigiri, only needing to re polish swords at your side 2-3 months.
I wish I could go to Japan and learn the samuria ways teckneaks and skills and plus hold the katana. The back ground is so beautiful as well that's one big reason wy I want to go as well... Japan ROCKS!!!

The mats they are cutting are used as flooring in Japan. They are called goza, or tatami. In the US we get a lot of the fresh tatami which is green and slightly easier to cut, also a little pricier. In Japan you can get recycled goza flooring for cutting purposes for next to nothing. The mats are denser which creates a tougher target to cut. Also, people have been known to use reeds, straw, etc. to make similar makes like this. Usually you take your mats and soak them 24 hours, drain and cut.

I really wonder how much each of those cutting mats cost in that region. Here it's like 7 to 8€ for a cheap one. Watching this I can only think "awesome, I wanna do this" and at the same time "how can I sustain doing that each week without feeling bad".

is it the shinken or is it iaito? from what i know the shinken is highly restricted in japan
@DOMINNIMOD1985 жыл бұрын
Iaitos don't cut, and shinken are not heavily restricted in japan, they just have to be registered, but are abundant and accessible

You She 全くちゃうで。戦国時代は戦で場数をこなしていくのが強くなるという考え方が主流で、武術の稽古はしない武士の方が多かったし、江戸時代は少年期から青年までの数年だけ剣術をやるのが一般的だった。
