We originally went into the planning phase of this party intending to do 2 min bursts, which we stuck with for phase 1, but it turns out that this isn't very feasible in phase 2 due to the structure of the boss. Therefore, we ended up settling for 3 min bursts (spending 6 minutes per segment), although 2-1 was done with a 2 min burst after the entry burst since this is necessary to line up FMAs for the rest of the run.
We prepped all devices after they spawned to one or two shots away from cleanse, and each time we reached four active devices, we waited 40-50 seconds before cleansing two devices and either do our mid-segment burst (with left tower active) or phase to next segment (with right tower active). In this run, we actually accidentally cleared the wrong tower in 2-3, which is why left tower was on for 2-4. I played pretty badly at the end after this happened, speedrunning 5 lives to 1 life (including being at 1 hp on 1 life just prior to the final burst...), but somehow we salvaged the situation!
This was an extremely hard boss despite the fact that all members of the party already had extensive experience with Kalos. There's very little room for error in timing cleanses and bursts, and everyone has to be on the same page with good communication to ensure that the planned strategy is followed. It's also easy to die to things you can't see or react to, and the enraged devices mechanic increases the difficulty level a lot compared to the original.
