Oh my god, THIS is it!! For the longest time i struggled to comprehend why Shadow Naoto was "balanced and fair" as the memes suggested and here you are explaining it nicely. Maybe its just me but the video reminds of Moldy Bagel DBFz. You could say, *I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS.* 🤩🤩🤩

Quite well put together, the two things I want to add are just; - Naoto's damage is generally very low without poison damage *especially* Shadow's, which isnt accessable off a lot of stray hits - In a pinch, Shadow Naoto's Lockdown + Mix from both Hamaon in a blockstring as well as EX Bullet+EX Roll+Double Fangs is very good at closing out a round with Shadow Frenzy even without getting a starting hit first

I find it amazing how Naoto's instant kills can make her top tier in every Persona game she's in, not mattering if it's P4G, P4AU or even both PQ games

I think this was a overall good video discussing P4AU most infamous character explaining the Fate mechanic and how the Shadow mechanic adds on to an already polarizing mechanic. This game was my first exposure to a game ever having an insta kill in it. Other games have had insta kills as like Super secret moves or moves that took really long and wasn't something you'd see in real matches. The only other character I know where insta kills is part of the central gameplan is Hero from Smash Ultimate (with his insta kills being behind a RNG special). I am strongly against the Fate counter because it basically turns every match with Naoto into a goofy minigame. Combining that with the already crazy Shadow mechanic and how it essentially buffs Shadow Naoto to play the Fate counter game even better due to the meter gain and instant awakening super, it makes for a very frustrating character to both watch as a viewer and play against as player. Naoto/Shadow Naoto do have their noticeable weaknesses but the entire existence of the Fate mechanic and what both character (more specifically Shadow Naoto) is capable of both deters outsiders from wanting to try the game when they see BS like that and active players wanting to avoid those playing her to begin with and it sucks the whole fun out of the game. I just think the Fate mechanic shouldn't exist in general. Btw, good work on promoting the game. People should play this game more and it deserves more attention. Also, you did a good job addressing what issues Naoto in general does have to try and level all the nonsense stuff Shadow has.

As someone who played P4U2 on PC, I love how Naoto's not even the best character in the game and instead some of the best characters come in the form of both Mitsurus

Dude thanks for this video! This game needs a lot of exposure as it gets. I love this game and would love to see more people playing it. As for Naoto though, she's always a joy to watch for me since it essentially boils down to if the opponent can kill her before she instakills you. Playing against her is a whole different story lol. A good Naoto player always knows what they have to do in order to get that easy victory. I dont find that many online so the match up is still a little tough for me as an lower intermediate Chie player when I do come across one. Either way, really good video and very entertaining as well!

Bruh Shadow kicked in and I just got flashbacks to milpy(formerly moopoke)’s shadow naoto video “dear god”.

That 8:04 gave me depression. Yeah, no, you should not be able to have someone on death door 1 second into the fight. Infinite loops still take time & require perfect player input (typically) I don't play fighting games, so only nerf I could think of is: double fate counters when fighting S. Naoto & reduce all fate reducers by 1 to minimum 1. That way, if this happens it'll eat 6 of 24-26 fate counters.

Man its been such a while since Ive played P4AU ever since I picked up Tekken and STRIVE, seeing this video definitely makes me definitely want to go back and play a bit given how Naoto was my main lol. Never realized she had all that going for and against her.

We need to stop letting characters in ArcSys fighting games have guns They more often then not end up being busted -Naoto/S.Naoto P4AU -Elphelt Valentine GGXRD Rev2 -Happy Chaos GG Strive To name a few. Probably more in other games i haven't played

When this game has Shabrys and Minazuki it's hard for me to accurately say that Naoto is broken. Unfair sometimes yes, but not really broken. That said I love playing her and it's so satisfying to oneshot someone with no fate.

As a (completely unbiased) Shadow Naoto main, I'd say that she's the most broken character I've seen in any fighting game. And I grew up playing Smash Bros Brawl
