The fog suffocates the marsh. Bewildered I am, for without companionship I am lost. Hundreds of eyes watch over my shoulder. As I turn to look in disarray, before my eyes the reaper returning to slay. Meek and blinded apparitions, resurface and recompense. The inner machinations of their minds are an enigma. It’s so close I can almost taste it. I begin to descend to the depths of dead gods. Materializing in infinite blackness, blood paints the pathway to the only door illuminated. Approached without knowledge of what lies beneath, I taste the essence of death. Taunting whispers echo in the halls of smothered tears. Stopped to face the door again, basking in overwhelming fear. Fallen comrades bleeding at my feet, what have they done? Opening the gates of hell to the horror within. From each crevice and arch they emerge. Unshackled from the prison of millennia to restore thy fallen lord. Elderly powers clandestine, shadowed in the vastness. Unscathed, sheltering affliction from the masses of the galaxy. Populace sulking in disease, chanting to their gods for mercy.
Various forms of entities relinquish this tomb to those who seek treasury. I fight to stay alive as hordes of demons surge. They whip and claw at my face as I cling to life. Immune to any actions taken thus far. Their only purpose: to consume and mutilate all. Bound in steel in the bowels of this world. Creatures made of flesh and maggots. Primal instinct dictates action. Perpetual repulsion is a factor that instills my rage, relinquished of all control. Relinquish all control. Relinquish your will and your soul. Relinquish! Relinquish! Bittersweet truths always burn the tongues of those who wish to taste the terrors to come. Alas, an oracle of light brings salvation. The caretaker of this installation pulls me forth. Without a second glance at what fiercely follows... to the catacombs we go to end this all.

To everyone making this "Deathcore is Hardcore, not Metal" argument. It's both. It's a fusion genre of Death Metal and Metalcore/Hardcore. So you get the best of both worlds, for Metal fans, and for Hardcore fans. Now can we stop arguing please?

and you call this deathcore, why? there is a breakdown in every other song of this band so it must be labeled as deathcore? Real deathcore is like despised icon or acacia strain who genuinely mix hardcore punk with death metal. there is literally no hardcore elements in shadow of intent songs. People who call bands deathcore just because of an odd breakdown have no clue what they're talking about.

butryk22 I know this is an old comment, but I recently discovered the distinction between death metal and black metal (wasn’t sure exactly at first) and I’d love to enrich myself further on all metal sub-genres, so what is the difference between deathcore and hardcore, because I always thought bands like acacia strain were hardcore, sort of? I need some teaching, as you can see hahaha anyway cheers!

@@natepeercy5527 it's a spectrum and Deathcore bridges the gap between Death Metal and Hardcore. Deathcore utilizes the blast beats, and low guttural vocals of Death Metal and mid range vocals and the two-step style riffing of Hardcore. The biggest thing Deathcore borrows from Hardcore is the emphasis on breakdowns, which can be found in some Death Metal but is usually far less syncopated. It's all art, so there is a ton of nuance and overlap without anything written in stone (this is why nerds can't help but genre argue in comment sections). Distinct examples: Death Metal: Vital Remains - "Hammer Down The Nails" Deathcore: Despised Icon - "Furtive Monologue" Hardcore: Throwdown - "Forever" TL;DR: Deathcore is a bridge between Death Metal and Hardcore, taking various elements from both.

I'm guessing these guys play too much Halo. -Their band name is from the cut scene in Halo 3 "Floodgate" where the cut scene says "Shadow of Intent". -The Album "Reclaimer" is the name 343 guilty spark(the monitor) calls master chief -Heretic Prevails is what the covenant thought Arbiter was before taking down the "True Heretic" (Halo 2) Feel so many Halo references lol

This song is talking about the Halo CE level '343 Guilty Spark' in which Master Chief follows the trail of Sergeant Johnson and a squad of marines who have descended into an 'arms depot' to investigate what the Covenant are looking for. Instead, the Covenant have unleashed The Flood, a parasitic lifeform that consumes all, turning it into muscle, brain, and flesh and which has a central consciousness composed of the entirety of the sentient lifeforms it has consumed. Master Chief opens the door at the bottom to investigate and the Flood come pouring out. He fights for his life as he ascends from the facility, and eventually is saved by 343 Guilty Spark, the monitor of Installation 04, the current Halo ring in which the Pillar of Autumn has crash-landed upon after escaping from the war-torn planet of Reach, the birthplace of the Spartan II program. Guilty Spark teleports the Master Chief to the Library, the storage place of the Index, so that he can pick up the key to initiate the Rings. Afterwards, he and Spark head to the Control room where Cortana has been kept within the Forerunner computers, learning about the true nature of the Halo rings and their deadly power. -A HALO FAN.

Not only that but the Lorna Shore crew are some amazing dudes to hang with. Tom is one of the friendliest guys I've ever met. Lorna's sound is authentic as fuck, especially live.

For people who hating about the "clean vocals" part, I understand that you want brutal stuff, but this is not just brutal stuff. This is much more than that and I find this part honestly amazing.. The way to integrate this type of vocals in this genre is genius in my opinion.. Anyways, great song !
