Been wanting to try out this team for a while and finally got a shadow poliwrath from this team rocket takeover weekend where poliwags were in shadow raids, I got a rank 300 poliwrath! I went 3-2, 3-2, 4-1 so far. I dont have any more charge tms so I'm rocking pup icy wind haha. One game opponent just top lefted assuming I had the scald lol. Love the content btw. Reminds me of when human catcher bug made these kind of vids and youtube recommended them to me.

If you throw icy wind instead of scald on skarmory, you still win 1-shield and come out with a lot more energy.

If your opponent has a decently ranked skarmory, they will actually survive that icy wind and ensuing counters long enough to reach two moves and take out your poli :) So the safe play is to go for two scalds

Great video! Would be interested how you deal with S-dragonair leads. Play out the lead matchup? Stay in and throw a thunderbolt and switch to S-poliwrath afterwards? Or switch immediatly to S-poliwrath?

I like to chip with a thunderbolt and then swap into the poli :)

I’ve been using this team except with vig instead of s-poli recently and it’s been working wonders. A lot less mud bois in my range ~2500 after the catch cup for some reason and I like the counter damage without all the normal flying weaknesses.

@@KPineI switched teams to yours today and I got all positive sets and like you said, grass leads are fee and far between, I didn’t see a single one. Poli with the debuff potential is just so good rn in the meta so hopefully they don’t nerf scald cuz I’m gonna keep abusing it.

I also don’t have shadow poli but regular is still good enough for me, one noticeable difference is the skarmory matchup

This is my first season playing seriously, I got up to 2743, was one game away from hitting expert, and I went on a huge losing streak. Back down to 2500. I've tried all sorts of teams but don't really know how to play them. Was able to win a couple games with this team but still losing most of the time. Not sure what to do. Thanks for your content

Keep working at it and try to learn each pokemon's individual matchups as well as trying your best to perfect move timing. Those two thing will help your play substantially. It takes a lot of practice but stay positive and try to not get discouraged!

Hi KPine, can the regular Poli substitute the Shadow Poli? If not do you have suggestion of alternative mon?

It can but would be a downgrade as the shadow damage bonus helps in a lot of situations. Annihilape could work to fill a similar role as a replacement

What rank are these three? You mentioned having a good Gligar. I have a rank 80 Lanturn, 300 S-Poli, and 50 Gligar. Trying to figure out if good enough to build. Thanks! 🍻

Generally yes, but it's hard to say because I haven't played this team with regular poli. Regular poli is a downgrade though which will be noticeable in matchups such as azu and jelli

I recommend checking its ranking to see if it's better as a gligar or if it's better as a gliscor in either the great league or ultra league :)

While difficult, it’s not impossible. I have beaten some shadow vic leads by playing it out the way I describe during my description of the team in the intro :)

Definitely usable but will be a noticeable downgrade. If you find the lack of damage from the non-shadow being too much, you can try annihilape as a replacement but then you no longer have the ability to debuff your opponent
