Another scene that I cannot fight tears... Kat’s portrayal in such a terrible moment is exquisite. 1. She found her mother in a gruesome state.. her heart obliterated, eyes wide open. 2. She watched footage of her death... at the hands of Alec, a person she’s worked closely with. 3. She shoved all of that aside to handle the threat, shoveling her emotions down. 4. Once the threat is gone... the shock sets in. Pure, unadulterated shock. She’s not crying, she’s not breathing, she’s not thinking. She’s moving in slow motion, doesn’t see anyone around her. She’s numb, hollow, and without thought. That is a beautifully haunting demonstration of shock.... been there.

Same here Kat is an amazing actress the emotion she showed was incredibly well done I love her so much. Though I felt terrible for Alec too he was possessed by a demon so it wasn't at Alec's hands that Jocelyn died he had to live with what the demon did with his body and that was heartbreaking for him.

I love everything about this scene, absolutely everything. The Lightwood bond (all three of them, because Jace is a fucking Lightwood, fight me) and Simon and Clary‘s relationship. How Alec carries Izzy. God, this was a really amazing scene.

I wonder if Izzy realizes that's partly why Alec is so messed up, & why she herself escaped comparatively unscathed? The expectations of an eldest child in a normal family can be very high & demanding, & these are emotionally constipated Shadowhunters bent on redeeming the family name in an equally emotionally constipated culture. She said it herself, "Heavy is the head that wears the crown". However sarcastic, it's true. Sometimes being the "favorite" isn't a good thing.

Reminds me of the time i broke my toe nail when we were climbing rocks around a watery area and my brother carried me over some deep water so my toe wouldn't touch the water

Alec and Jace just going to Izzy. Alec carrying Izzy. THAT SIBLING RELATIONSHIP OH MY GOD... and Alec being like: "Izzy please don't leave me" And the fact Simon holds Jace back and then just runs to Clary to hug her? That friendship just oh my Angel But what also got me in tears was Clary. You see how far she has gone - to the girl who panicked when she first saw the Shadowhunters to someone who had their mind focused on killing the demon and only took the time to let what happened. And then her facial expression? She was in a real state of shock. I cried seeing Clary's look.

love how Alec didnt want hurt izzy at all he couldn't shoot her. He loves hus little sis so much and Jace hugging him and helping them up so precious. I felt so bad for clary thank God Simon was there to comfort her

That part with Jace and Simon kind of reminds me that scene from Vampire Diaries where Stefan and Damon save Elena from Elijah, and she is standing at the top of the stairs looking at Damon and starts to run down looking like she is about to hug him when Stefan comes out of nowhere and hugs her instead

Alec would literaly died because je wont hurt her little sister even if there was deamon inside of her. I just love them. I now Alec and Jace and their parabatai think but i think Alec and Izzy have strongest relationship. Because it is somethink what cant be made it is natural. :)

oh nah nah that ending... I've always said Shadowhunters tends to way overdo the dialogue - they usually have emotional scenes with way too much talking when they could have silent, poignant interactions that are far more powerful. The ending to this episode just proves that. So beautifully shot. Such a perfect, lonely yet loving image of Jace returning to his true brother and sister, and Simon comforting his best friend in the world - all the while, Clary has never been more utterly alone as her mother is gone. The heartbroken look on Jace's face as he realises there's nothing he can do for her.... god that gets me....

I sincerely loved this scene. shows the friendship between Clary and Simon which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful (and then in the original story Clary and Simon becoming Parabatai)
