I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

I can tell you why some saddles are green and some saddles are blue. Before Ark was officially released during the early access days saddles rolled a random durability stat similar armor but this durability was never used and was eventually patched to be hidden. Basically, the hidden unused durability stat can dictate the quality of the saddle the same way armor can. This is also why you can occasionally find ascended saddles with much lower armor than mastercraft or mastercraft saddles with much lower armor than journyman etc...

Lol gl if ur lucky all ur missions for gen 1 and 2 don’t reset, had this happen to 3-6 tribe members on smalls me having alpha gen 1 and beta gen 2 unlocked, reset all notes too,

I have started the same quest. All story maps in order, and i can visit ragnarok in between as my main base. So far I'm getting prepped for the island bosses. How far along are you? Any tips for finding rexes? Like do you have to have level 125-150?

According to the shadowmanes code looking in devkit, when mate boosted + in a pack (and in devkit they do this but also havent seen shadowmane teleport when in devkit but in game i have). Female shadowmanes thornmail inflicts a boosted variant of the buff thats greenish and stacks with the normal thornmail poisoning. And the hold left click attack of the female when mate boosted and in a pack inflicts a stronger version of the lionfish slowdown than the normal shadowmane.

The male buff doesnt increase damage and resistance. It gives stamina regeneration and movement speed buff. -Edit- Also gives Torpidity Recovery. Pack leader is a buff it gives which is supposed to add +33% damage but haven't seen it working yet. (at least on console official servers. done plenty of damage tests and it doesn't seem to work yet, but should be in upcoming patches.)

@@andrejhofer2007 Pretty much yes. Now it would be worth saying having 1 Shadow rider would still be nice for their particular buffs but in terms of average players, the yuty would still be the only buffer.

I love shadowmanes and wyverns they are by far my favorites dinos in the hole game, they are just so beautifull, the only thing i dislike in shadowmane is the fact that is u fight a wild one, they still can dismount u from tamed shadowmane! But if they has imunity to stun they probably were to op!

I tamed a level 145 and it only came out with 80 armor. I’m on ps5 w single player settings so does that effect it in anyway? Also when I level the shadow mane the armor doesn’t go up

There is also Journeyman, Mastercraft and Ascended armor on Shadowmanes

But no matter whether unofficial or host local you can spawn in as many as you want and see that eventually they will come with them armors. Though I imagine on official it's going to take much much longer. And I play on a PlayStation 4 console

Yeah the only thing random about the armor is the quality which doesn't matter with the armor cap and the right levels from your breeders. I tamed a 145 male and didn't wanna do it again so just went for a low level female an just breed all the male's stats on the babies journeyman quality does seem to be the highest. Took 8, 100 fully imprinted, and only 15-18k health 600% melee shadowmanes and smashed Alpha broodmother, Gamma only took 4 and wasn't even a hassle. My main male Lion-o and female Cheetra ripped through a 140 Alpha Rex in seconds and it had over 100k health. Now I'm working on health and melee mutations

I feel like they must have changed this at some point. My shadowmanes' armor seems capped out at 80 and I have both "ramshackle" and "apprentice" ones as well. Very strange. Guess if there was anything about them they were going to nerf...I can't complain.

For combat, this is, hands down, the best creature in ARK. It's also stylish as hell. You should do one for gathering. I like the stryder, but due to their incredible lack of mobility, and the fact they can't target specific resources to the exclusion of others (for example the Doed will ONLY gather stone when I need stone) I am not sure they are at the top for me.

@@Wastelander2281 Of course I have. Stryders have their strengths but they also have serious weaknesses. First, they are only on Gen 2. Second, unless you link them to dedicated storage (which comes on line in the later stages of the game) they don't target specific resources. Lastly they are relatively slow and take a long time to traverse the terrain. I can make 3 or 4 trips with an argentavis/Ankylosaurus combo for metal and Flint farming in the time you get to the metal on the stryder. Don't get me wrong, parking a strider in the lunar zone on Gen 2 is a phenomenal way to harvest specific resources but their mobility leaves a lot to be desired.

@@MrMagyar5 You are definitely right about the dedi storage, but if you can have them and you got a hover skiff, there is no better set up than the stryder, on gen 2 of course and maybe the other maps at some point too.

The shadow doesn't buff the attack. Do a test. No increase in damage.

annoying thing is my shadowmanes are bred up to 245, if i bred to being just HP melee and stamina then it would be around 110, so would have to also breed in the weight to get max armour right away

@@janetaylor2722 I'm on official too (non smalls). I usually keep things like bred Crystal wyverns in the cryopods in a cryofridge for a day or two, then once it comes out, it has like 40-50 levels ready to go. Are you keeping yours out? I think it should be able to reach it from there

@@DogOnAKeyboard yes that works, i just like getting it to a good point right away... im playing pve so far breeding melee and have it up to 51 points. however the rest of the stats were under 40 and have not mutated those up yet, recently bred the melee to be the only stat (to make breeding easier) so its a lvl 52 male breeding with lots of lvl 1 females

I believe the armour will decrease the lower that the taming effectiveness is. Taming a 150 with awful effectiveness will most likely decrease the armour. I have tamed a 180 (my server difficulty is 6 so 180 is max level) but the effectiveness was only 90% and it came out with about 80 armour.

I found a shadowmane with 245 melee pre tame, and the final feed needed, it ate it but got no percentage, i didn't have any more fish and Lost it, didn't want to play after that bullshit.

They don't lose tame. Just go into your menu highlight it's location so it pings on your hud then go get fish

Okay so I see that the shadowmane armor was nerfed and capped at 80, but does the server clamp affect that? The crafted saddles on a server I'm playing on go up to about 350, but I don't know if the shadowmane armor will go higher than 80. Got a few manes at level 230-240 through breeding and they're still capped at 80.

Way overtuned. Get some fun in till they nerf it, still, it has so many abilities they would have to remove some to actually balance it. Which is unlikely.

To be fair the majority of there overpowered abilities are locked behind having a mate the cloak isn't that great the courageous roar only works on other shadowmanes besides that they have really good armor a poison and stun if anything is overtuned it's Tek striders

They already stripped a few of the stryders abilities. You used to be able to take the charge from a light pet and they also removed the regrowth walk. Still. You can breed shadowmanes. You only need 1 high level and one low level of the other gender to get a strong line going.

@@phantomway2908 the roar works on every creature and player in range, not just on shadowmanes only. It works similarly to the mass cloak of the female. When the male has a female nearby they can roar to buff everything around them.

Assuming this information is no longer relevant, all I've see is maxed out at 80.00 and apprentice quality, have not seen anything past that on officials.
