It’s true; I don’t normally like Rules Lite or Narrative games -- some exceptions being Ryuutama, Golden Sky Stories and OVA.
This one is getting added to said list of exceptions -- it captures the essence of being fast and furious without sacrificing too much of what makes Shadowrun, well, Shadowrun.
Still though, I much prefer 5th edition to Anarchy, since I like games that have a lot of structure and boundaries.

I got the book so thanks for breaking it down. I have a hard time getting through rulebooks but once they're explained I can usually get through it.

Yes, I've been playing Anarchy with my friends, and it's amazing. We all came from roleplay backgorunds, some of us played DND (3.0) or White Wolf -so it fit nicely.

We tried to go with first edition and failed horribly. The game guys put me onto Anarchy. This looks like it might work.

Honestly been listening to a podcast of different shadowrun games. Anarchy's rules are much more digestible over me trying to learn 6th Edition. Also, after watching half the video, right after watching the full 6e character creation video guide, I can certainly say I was able to go "ohhhh, i got it." And followed the book. Anarchy is rules lite, but it doesnt assume you know everything about Shadowrun.

So basically this is a hybrid of Shadowrun & the Cue system that they used in Cosmic Patrol and the Valiant Universe rpg. Personally I'd just do a Shadowrun setting with the Valiant system.

Yep, Shadowrun Anarchy uses the cue system. There's some SLIGHT differences, since the two use different dice systems...but you'll probably otherwise have the same game. The only reason I can think to use Anarchy over Valiant for what you're describing is that conversion from SR 5 (or earlier, maybe) is easier since Anarchy shares a lot of the stats from 5th Edition.

I'm not familiar with the cue but I guess Edge of the Empire from FFG uses it, this description fits perfectly. FFG just have different dice to represent success/failure, advantage/disadvantage and triumph/despair and different names for other things (wound/strain, soak etc). So, anyone that likes the Cue/FFG-system just got another setting to choose.

The Cue System is actually used by Catalyst Games Labs, not Fantasy Flight. Even then, the Cue System is really more of a way to play a game without a GM -- this is also used by "The Valiant Universe RPG." The dice system used in Shadowrun Anarchy is much closer to other editions of Shadowrun.

I have a question regarding the narration rules you were talking about. Is it possible to somewhat ignore that style of story telling and stick with the more traditional GM style or does it really take away from the game play or mess with the rules of Anarchy?

I wouldn't say it takes too much away from the game to play it with a traditional GM; that was partially how I had to run it the first time I tried, I stayed out of the narration as much as possible, generally only stepping in to state what sort of rolls needed to be made. Though as the players were somewhat reluctant to set up challenges for one another, I often had to do that, as well. (Which was actually the opposite of what I was expecting: for them to set up wussy encounters for each other.) The meat of Anarchy seems to be that it's a much more rules lite approach; you don't have to keep track of every piece of gear you've got nor every single nuyen, and finer details can be glossed over.

Wow, quick reply. I really appreciate it. I used to play a ton of 3rd edition but have long since become part of a different gaming group. And this group isn't familiar with Shadowrun, basically at all. So I figured a rules lite version would probably be the best and easiest way to introduce my "new" chummers to one of my favorite settings.
