Yup u r absolutely right. We actually did share the cost of the wedding with both of us contributing becuz frankly I don't think it is fair to expect parents to bear all of it .

Court marriage is generally not preferred due to the Mindset of people... Bt one needs to understand that (Generally) All the rituals of a Marriage has it's own Cultural, Emotional, and SCIENTIFIC approach( Yes, truly in 60-70% of them, U can google a Lil bit on the Scientific logic behind HAWAN, SINDUR, TILAK, HALDI and MEHENDI RITUALS and many more😉 [ not all, just like dowry 😣] !!!!! ) If I talk about the emotional connection, if When One actually devoted and Serious towards their marriage, When both Bride and Groom take those 7 promises and Sacred fire Circumbulances, they feel the peace of mind and the connection, bond, love, responsibilities towards each other ( Provided that the environment is calm and composed, no crackers and not very Loud music ) THE CONCEPT I'M TALKING ABOUT IS ZERO WASTE WEDDING (just go and research on your own) (IF U WANT TO SHOW YOUR PROSPERITY and well being in the society, show it by contributing to the environment, and Housing the poor) And yaa, definitely, How to celebrate your wedding ceremony can be your choice!!! Suggesting Court marriage means tradional marriage is useless? Grow up man...not every tradional rituals are meaningless... It's so easy nowadays to critise each n everything done by our ancestors

@@rashmiagarwal2259 you didn’t read the comment properly no one is criticising the rituals here,people are just trying to change bad things by their opinions but we think you are in very much favour or dowry or may be you called this ritual too!!!

@@rohitasharma3931 there is difference between no dowry simple marriage vs court marriage. In former case you believe in the rituals, the vows, the faith discarding the dowry or unnecessary expenditure and show off...but in later case you mean that indian marriage process ,( i.e. taking vows in the prensence of your near and dear ones, and ofcourse god and remembering your ancestors and having fire as a witness of all) is all of no use and marriage only needs a couple of signatures. I have read the comment ...and understood what the writer meant. He dint mean that only dowry and show off is useless, he meant that there is no use of tradional marriage process and only signatures is sufficient

See the positive side. Both the sides of bride and groom need to think and act on this issue. Both sides are the stakeholders.

@@PMcse It's not like I am overlookimg the positivity. But my point is when Girl herself or her family would opt for not to go for dowry or say gifts, then the real concern is there. They will try to retain the good groom with this monetary benefits. And unfortunately, social norms(???) always convinced that girl and her side should be in submissive role irrespective of education, and qualities of girl. Being human is not the criteria to consider here. During conversation, Tara's mother asks to forward guest list. So isn't it obvious that the wedding function would be conducted by her side. It's not about number of guests being 50 or 500, but there should be equal sharing of expenditure as it is a joint event for both families. I do appreciate the positivity, but there are lacunae, and yes, there is definitely a very well scope to evolve us as civilian and I am looking forward for that.
