On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled that the "religion-neutral" clause applies to all married women, regardless of their religion, and that a Muslim woman may request maintenance from her husband under Section 125 of the CrPC. Soon after the verdict, a debate broke out among political parties, with Congress and BJP targeting each other and reminding who had done injustice to women. Who 'betrayed' women for votes?
