I sat down with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to discuss his style, basketball as an art, his team chemistry with the Oklahoma City Thunder and MVP aspirations. #espn #NBAonESPN #NBAToday

@@hudsontge1203 Exactly bro! I also heard SGA is ultra-competitive. When someone is that competitive, has physical gifts (SGA with crazy ankle flexibility and deceleration Like the crazy vert, first step, and large hands for MJ), and work ethic and student mindset... it is scary!

Of course its boring...he's not Steph...chucking it up near half court. SGA is old school slippery smooth and closed to automatic at mid range. Give me more of that if he was on my team. Love the way this guy plays.

Anthony Edwards possesses something close to Jordan's style and high-flying antics on the court. SGA possesses something close to Jordan's eloquence and demeanor off the court. Glad to see the next generation of the NBA coming from home-grown talent and able to compete with the foreign talent like Luka, Wembanyama, Sengun, Sabonas, etc.

SGA dresses like lil nas x. Read into that what you want. This guy can get to the bucket any time he chooses but. The coach gave him too much rope last year letting him play pg giving him unlimited Kobe iso reps to score so he could try make an all star game while they’ve been rebuilding is now starstruck by him and it’s rolled into a second season and giddey has had his rôle significanty lowered and okc will be this years grizzlies. Have a great regular season and get bundled out of the playoffs first round when they finally manage to put the clamps on sga

I feel bad for dude cause jokic 3rd mvp is inevitable
@johnbarkley9254 ай бұрын
Jokic is the MVP. You could argue that Shai has better teammates. Chet as a rookie is arguably better than Murray this season (his shooting and two way value makes him more valuable) while the other teammates even out. Murray has also missed 17 games. How can Shai be the MVP without ever making the playoffs in recent memory ? In 2022 Book won 64 games and averaged 27 points with a much lesser roster than Shai this year and wasn't considered top 3 in the MVP race. How does Shai skip all of these players (Booker, Tatum, Luka)?
@user-ed1tb3xl3z4 ай бұрын
Awwe yes to be the mvp of one season you must make the playoffs from another season. Good thinking. 😂
@johnbarkley9254 ай бұрын
@@user-ed1tb3xl3z When we look back at previous Mbps there's a reason why the majority of them are either top 4 players in the league ( except Rose, Nash, Westbrook etc) or have a resume before winning the MVP. You could argue that based on the definition kg valuable, Jokic should have been MVP in 2019 after Giannis and Harden because he brought a perennial bottom team to a top 3 seed in the West. He didn't win however because he didn't have a playoff resume.
@user-ed1tb3xl3z4 ай бұрын
@@johnbarkley925 ok fair argument. I just think it’s wierd that it works that way. Like Stephen curry shouldn’t win mvp this season because he has been great in other season same for lebron same for other veterans or people have had recent good playoff runs.
