Well, I finally read my way through all of Shakespeare's tragedy plays, so now it's time to call 'em like I see 'em. 😏

Ohhhhh! Very interesting ranking. I can’t wait to see how I compare when I read the rest of the tragedies this year. Troilus and Cressida is saying some very interesting and ignoble things about it’s “hero’s” of the past. Cressida’s situation is a testament to her will to survive when all the “noble” men in her life have betrayed her and the unreasonable judgement she faces for simply trying to survive her terrible fate is just blind and foolish naivety. I’m glad that Timon of Athens ranked so highly for you. I really enjoyed that play. It’s saying so much and I feel I’m missing a lot of it and need to read it again. Great video!

Yes, Troilus and Cressida has so much to dissect! Definitely one of Shakespeare's most...interesting plays, for various reasons. And I actually have individual videos for several of these plays that I hope to be putting out. Might try to do all of them at some point. Anyway, thnx for watching! :)

Titus Andronicus is a comedy in disguise. Hence its greatness.

I have heard that interpretation. I think Harold Bloom espoused as much. Perhaps it's so. The "your mom" joke was pretty solid. 😂

I've only read _Hamlet, MacBeth, Romeo and Juliet,_ and _Much Ado About Nothing,_ all of which I liked. I'm no scholar on the subject, nor do I read many plays in general. I will be reading _All's Well That Ends Well_ for Shaketember along with the novel _All's Well_ by Mona Awad. It's good to see which ones may be worth getting to over others for the future.

I think I'll be doing a history play for Shaketember; the histories are up next. :) And I really would stress giving Coriolanus a read. Honestly, if I was asked to name one play that someone should read to represent why Shakespeare is so important, it would be that one. I truly was shocked by just how pertinent that play is. :o

Always surprising lists you come up with. I haven’t read all of them. Actively avoiding Antho-Cleo, I don’t know why, just don’t care to. Caesar and Macbeth definitely have their moments. King Lear I felt was rather aimless. Coriolanus I think was a better attempt at what Shakespeare tried to do with King Lear. I read very few pages of Timon of Athens but remember really liking it. I should pick up on that. Of course, one can never argue about Hamlet. One of those works that can neither be praised nor condemned-but only either accepted or denied.

I like that, "accepted or denied". Some works really do reach an "only God can judge me" status. 😆

I commend you for finishing the tragedies, and after I'm done with my sonnet project, I may finally get through the rest of Shakespeare. I hated Julius Caesar, and I can only wonder at what foul substance you must have eaten before reading Lear that tainted you so against it. Likewise, Macbeth. Nevertheless, it's always wonderful to hear another person's take on Shakespeare, and you've spurred me to get my ass in gear to read the rest of the tragedies, so thanks!

If you haven't already read it, I would recommend going for Coriolanus first. Not perfect, but seriously underrated. Thnx for watching! :)

It's a tossup between Timon of Athens and Coriolanus. Under appreciated plays, both of them. :)

"A Tale Told by an Idiot" 😆😆I read 6 of these (high school / university). It's been many years, but I agree, I think Hamlet is maybe the best from what I can remember. Also MacBeth.

I'm not sure. I have considered reading Dream of the Red Chamber though. Might give that one a go someday.
