This song sounds different every time he plays it, and yet I love all of them, which is highly impressive on his part.

It's like he wrote this song as a poem and then was like, "lets put notes on it." Fucking fantastic

There's a feeling of improv in many of his songs, like he's making it up as he goes. But it's extremely natural too. I'm really falling in love with this guy's music!

Daniel Ryer yeh I agree, you can listen to a few versions of each song. there is some interference in this one, but it's my favourite version of this song.
@stevenbender664 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I'm not sure what 'it' is, but I'm thinking he has it. He's not trying to imitate anyone, and originality is hard to come by these days. He is quickly climbing my list of favs. I wish him the best. Cheers mates.

“Tomorrow”, by Shakey Graves, is the type of song you listen to the morning of your wedding day. It fills your lungs with sweeter air, it helps your mind prioritize, it brings out your most romantic emotions within, and most importantly… It makes you FEEL something. Shakey’s voice is the absolutely perfect blend of raspy and smooth. His is the type of voice that makes you want to settle down and buy a house with a wrap around porch and spend the rest of your days picking the banjo outside on a rocking chair, sitting next to the one you love most. And if you ask me, that wouldn’t be settling at all. In short, this song is inspirational.

I almost like this comment as much the song 😅❤️
@MythicGuitarCompany5 жыл бұрын
I didnt feel that it was overly romantic. It seemed to me that he was with a girl when he was younger who left him and he never really got over her and years later he was trying to get her back after having a plethora of other women (or perhaps they stayed together through the years, she gained a lot of weight and he had a plethora of other women and finally saw that she was the best option once she lost weight. Some of the first words talk about their childhood physique.) In truth I dont know what he was really talking about but it is a love song, I just dont think I would want to listen to it before my wedding day.

Lyrics for “Tomorrow” by Shakey Graves (via Genius w/ corrections for this version by me): Well, I'm tired of losing I used to win every night of the week Back when sex and amphetamines Were the staples of our childhood physique You used to tell me we'd turn into something Oh, you said life was much better than this Yeah, but the closest I've come to perfection Is when you turned around to steal a kiss But you never trusted tomorrow Baby is that anyway to live your life? You love the heart of my six string, girl But its been outta tune, oh for some time Yeah, well "Oh, I love so many women There's so many women, love, driving me wild" Yeah, they say you get lost in complexion And the structure of a well-placed smile But baby you, yeah well you never smile I say you, oh you, you never smile And it looks better that way Quite honestly Yeah looks better that way Looks better that way Oh, even though you never trusted tomorrow Oh, baby, that's just a problem of mine Yeah, I've been thrown around by some bad ones, girl Oh, and a good one was a new thing this time Oh, but you showed me that I couldn't be farther Yeah, from the truth of the problem at hand Yeah, I could never say "baby, tomorrow Oh, I'll be right there!" Oh, well I’ll be your man Yeah, well I'll be your man [belch]
