Samina ji is one of the best-he lets the guest speak more unlike our other TV hosts who like to listen their own voice. Samina ji, we would like you to interview Ustad Irshad Khan (son of the legedary U. Imrat Khan saheb) and easily the most sincere musician in India today among his generation.

Vishy I agree to a certain extent with you view. My mother tongue is Farsi and I am fluent in Urdu and understand Lahori Punjabi well. Pure Farsi not Durri words are used quite frequently in urdu esp poetry. Anyone who speaks Punjabi understands urdu easily. Punjabi language goes back 1000BC and is a Anglo Aryan language influaced by Sanskrit. Therefore to say that Urdu is a mixture of Hindi Punjabi and Farsi would be more palatable. And with certainty a language of Greater Hind.

Mughals were not Persians.They were from central Asia. Their dialect is durri. Urdu was conceived and nurtured in India long before there was any divisions. More people speak urdu in India then anywhere else.
