Shakira CALLS OUT Ex Gerard Piqué For ‘Dragging Me Down’

Shakira is not mincing her words when it comes to her ex Gerard Pique. The Colombian singer was on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday to talk about her new album and candidly told the comedian why it took her seven years to release it. “I’ve been putting out music here and there, but it was really hard for me to put together a body of work,” she said. “I didn’t have time. It was the husband factor. Now I’m husband-less. Yeah, the husband was dragging me down. Now I’m free. Now I can actually work.” Shakira and Gerard announced their split in June 2022 after 12 years together. During that time the pair welcomed two sons-11-year-old Milan and 9-year-old Sasha. While talking to Jimmy, Shakira also revealed the empowering meaning behind her album title, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” which translates to “women no longer cry.”

Good for Shakira. I’m happy that she’s able to release music. The only thing that I hate is that this is not gonna spread negativity towards him. I’m not his biggest fan. I didn’t know him before Shakira. However, I just hate when somebody gets negativity.

Totally get it and women do have the right to heal, vent, and grow, but i dont think bashing the father should be a public part of it because those kids end up watching those videos. While adult children can better process and understand a divorce, my opinion is that it still can hurt if either parent publicly talks negative of the other parent. Well everyones entitled to do what they feel is right and only she knows her reasons. I still support her music and think she is a talented singer and wish her and her kids the best!

It really doesn't matter if a woman speaks badly of her ex husband if the things she is saying are true and if it serves a purpose of expressing feelings. She never forbid kids to speak to their father nor tried to manipulate them, but why should any person pretend that everything is OK if it's not, I don't understand. I tell my kids everything as it is and try to explain it to them as much as they are able to understand. If it's a war, I say that it's a war. If there are people dead, I'm not trying to hide dead people from them. If a man's a cheater and a shitty person, I'm not trying to hide that either.

@@nerahajder5084 that may work for you and your kids and for many families but also true is that is can harm the child if a parent speaks negatively of the another parent. Each parent can decide how they raise their kids, but if they publicly talk negatively of the other parent i think it opens the door for anyone to jump on that wagon. Either way, wish you good luck

You can’t really hide anything from kids. They are very smart. They even notice when you feel shitty before you actually know it. And that is exactly why you need to talk with your children what is happening and especially tell them that it’s not their fault. Open conversations and talking about emotions is important

Everyone have a different way to heal and at the end of the day she said the true plus her kids were aware about the situation since day one I know they are little kids and I was also one and found out my own father was unfaithful to my mother in her own bed in the house I was raised my mother had been honest about what kid of man is my father and I'm pretty thankful about it because she's not lying to me and can see what kind of person my father is. now I just let him be as he is and I appreciate the times he's a nice father but no women deserve someone that cannot be trusted neither lie to their kids neither society about what kind of person he is period

Shakira I understand you are hurt, but please think about your kids and keep your issues private. The only ones who will suffer are them, Pique won't care.
