Next Up for Top Rank Boxing, The junior lightweight division will crown a king on Saturday, April 30, when WBC champion Oscar Valdez (30-0, 23 KOs) takes on WBO king Shakur Stevenson (17-0, 9 KOs) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Valdez-Stevenson, an eight-round lightweight co-feature between U.S. Olympic silver medalist Keyshawn Davis and Esteban Sanchez, and Nico Ali Walsh versus Alejandro Ibarra in a four-round middleweight special attraction will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

I honestly don't see Shukar's footwork as "outstanding". He has slightly above average footwork, but I think people mistake Shukar's footwork for his phenomenal measure of distance and great speed (killer combo in the sport). I think Keyshawn Davis has better footwork and as good as it is (and it is good) Keyshawn's footwork is not better than Paqman or Loma or Andy Cruz Gomez-- these men have outstanding footwork.

I just feel people underestimate Valdez in this fight. He literally fought 12 rounds with a broken jaw and still won. He had one bad fight on his last fight which was questionable but there’s a reason he’s considered one of the best right now. I feel people are sleeping on him, it’s boxing any of the two can win

@@harryburganjr.969 Shakur had a bright future at this pace. Especially if he moves up to 135, so many good matchups. I don't see a way Oscar can beat him. However, Valdez has alot of experience and is well acquainted with adversity in the ring. I've never seen Shakur handle hardship in the pro ranks (because he is so good). Hard to know how he reacts. We seen Ryan and Haney get wobbled or dropped, and than they fought through it. I hope I see that for Shakur, a right of passage.
