OMG FINALLY!!!! I GET TO TELL MY STORY!!!!! Ok. So. This season finale aired in 2015. In 2015, I attended Bonnaroo (a 3-day music festival). This finale aired during the last night of the festival. Since this show was HUGE at the time, they decided to play the finale live on a main stage screen instead of having a music act. It also aired at the same time Billy Joel was performing. My friend and I chose to watch the finale instead of Billy, and then catch the second half of his performance afterwards. It was such an AMAZING once in a lifetime experience to watch THIS finale specifically with thousands of other diehard fans. Billy Joel ended up only playing for one hour, so we missed his set completely. But absolutely zero regrets! I would do it again in a heartbeat! The fact that it was this finale out of all the finales was crazy. Whew! So glad I could finally share my story haha

You have such a visceral response, and you just want everyone else to see it then share in your shock.

I dont get the hate for this season. I think it's one of the best and I luv it. Hardhome is one of my favorite episodes. Fun reaction. Also that goblet is awesome!! "OYSTERS, CLAMS and COCKELS" 🤣🤣

They used a body double for the walk of shame scene. Lena Headey who plays Cercei said she couldn't do it if she wanted to as she was actually pregnant at the time and her baby bump would of shown then.

I’m with you David, I too enjoyed season 5…and 6, and 7 and 8 for the most part. I say this constantly, Game of Thrones is my favorite show of all-time. Period! The good and the bad, I loved it all!

One reason I love this show is when they have one person get revenge for something that was done to a loved one. But the person getting revenge didn’t know what happened to the loved one. Arya killing Sir Meryn Trent he used to beat Sansa. Arya had him on her list for killing her sword dancing teacher Syrio. But she got revenge for Sansa too. Jon be heading Janos Slynt at the wall got revenge for Janos betraying Ned when he was arrested. Jon didn’t know the details of that we assume but he did avenge Ned.

Ah yes, the episode known as the “family barbecue” All of us were shocked. She didn’t deserve that. I’ve always assumed that Drogon returned because he smelled the blood from the massacre in the coliseum. The dragons know the ways of Targaryen rule. Fire and blood.

1- Jon Snows death. 2- Arya's Blindness. 3- Shireen burned at the steak. Those were the most surprising. Drogon saving Daenerys, great scene but not unexpected. Cersei's walk of shame, amazing performance and painful to watch, but somewhat expected. Myrcella's death, wasn't expected until the kiss from Ellaria... that was suspicious. - - - Daenerys dropping the ring- I think she left it as a clue (not lightly do the leaves of Lorien fall)

Ahhhh yes, yes, I see your reasoning here. And you know another thing that hit me afterwards, in other seasons any of these ALONE could have easily been the big finale of an episode, even Theon and Sansa jumping from a ledge into an unknown fate. But THIS one had all of them! It was like Shireen, Arya, Jon Snow, Brianne and Stannis! Boom boom boom- you never get a chance to process any of them on their own.

@@DavidvsFilm I guess in the books they described a huge snowdrift against the wall where Theon and Sansa jump off. In the show it's not mentioned so it looks kind of ridiculous to jump from such a height.

OLA!! Someone has told you the naked SHAME walk was done by a BODY DOUBLE and they just CGI pasted Lena's head on the body probably from having her stand and walk in a way to match the double's movements.

Yay...Theon is coming out of his Reek torture coma and helps Sanza escape. These were short scenes but some of my fave...I really liked the pairing of Sanza and Broken Theon helping each other...I mean he is basically like her older brother.💜

@DavidvsFilm yeah I think ppl really start hating on this series around this season, but honestly I don't think it was awful & still had alot of good moments. By this time I was so hooked into the show that I wasn't gonna give up on it.

I always found that bit with Drogon rather hilarious in the middle of such a serious scene. Dany pulls the spear out and it looks like Drogon turns to her and yells, "OWWWWWW! MOOOOM! That hurt! ...okay, sorry mommy, didn't mean to yell at you." 😆

Also, I've said since the beginning of the show...F*** Stannis! And f*** all the manchildren in the audience who call him "The Mannis". He's always been this guy, since the beginning of the show. He'll kill anyone, including family members and children, for power. He does that self-righteous crocodile tears BS about not really wanting to rule, but as I said, it was all BS. It was even BS in the books, as much as people want to deny it. The very first scene in the books when he shows up is his mental whining about how little respect he gets and how much he deserves more than what he's got. F*** him.

'Supp! I always enjoy your reactions and commentary... One of my favorite moments in this season was watching Miranda get flung off the top walkway by Theon and then he and Sansa jumping from the wall to escape. FYI - apparently there's like 60 feet of snow built up around Winterfell, so these two would have been safe to jump. The actress who portrayed Miranda plays the lead of Katherine of Aragon in The Spanish Princess. 😊

This was the goosebumps episode - the moment she first rides the dragon is TRULY epic. I know people who started with HOTD don’t get the weight of this moment AND the moment when they hatch - but both scenes were so powerful Also I think the fire magic sacrifice of Shireen didn’t work because it proves Stannis was not a true king

I cannot tell you how ANGRY I was at the end of this season for the stabbing of Jon Snow at the end of the season and having to wait to find out what happened 😂 oooh! I was HOT! All the whiskey in the world could not quench that fire, but it definitely helped. First things first, kudos to Marc’s amazing Hand of the King shirt ❤ Farewell to Stanis and that eliminated the stag from the Game. Poor Shireen! Of all the deaths, being set alight is a horrific one! You know Davos is gonna lose his 💩 when he finds out. The sympathy for Circe in the Shame walk… I’m gonna be honest, I had no sympathy. This heifer eared every step. Lena Hadley did this scene so well though. You have to give her all her flowers for that. When Drogan appeared and ate those Sons of the Harpy! That was awesome!! See, when I watched this, I thought she dropped her ring to leave a clue. Those were Dothraki, so I thought she was dropping clues to where they were taking her. I can’t wait to watch the rest with you! I’m so excited to see your reactions to the next one ❤ sorry I’ve not been around. Recovering from some big health issues. Lots of love to you and yours!

Look at Marc, pulling out the Mighty Mouse anthem! (Here I come to save the day.) I remember from an interview or something that Dany wasn’t summoning the dragon to save her but grabbed Missandei’s hand and closed her eyes preparing to die. I thought she was telepathically calling for Drogon too. So glad to be back with you two for Game of Thrones! Peace … Meant to include this: Cersei’s literal walk of shame was a combination of Lena Heady and a body double with cgi face replacement, partly because they didn’t want spectators to know the whole story and ruin the surprise before it aired. They did a lot of misdirection while filming once the popularity of the show grew so big.

They did a GREAT job with the effects and editing then, because I would have never known the difference! With Drogon, that's what I thought at first too- that she was just like, "Well Missanei, here it comes. Prepare for us to bite the dust, girl.." But the timing of the dragon then appearing made it seem like they were connected. Great info from you as always though, so thank you!!

Drogon already had been summoned, prior to her closing her eyes. He could feel her intense distress because of the Targaryen-to-dragon magical bonding connection. 🥳🙌

An added twist to this end, this as far as the books have gotten in the series. There was a little bit more with Arya but not much. So even the book fans didn't know what was going to happen in the next season and beyond. Still waiting for those books Mr. GRR Martin.

Hahaha about the books. Exactly!! I feel like he sits down, cracks his knuckles, and types, “The winds blew fierce across the promise of a new day.” then gets up and says, “Ok that’s enough for this month. We don’t want to rush things.”
