Shameless EverDrive Clone? The EDGB PRO+ (GBC Flash Cart)

Let’s see if this GBC flash cart is worth purchasing. Known as The EDGB PRO+, this flashcart is capable of running both Game Boy Color and Game Boy ROMs. It worked on all hardware I tested it on, but unfortunately does not include a real-time clock (rtc) or save states. Overall that, it’s a shameless clone of an EverDrive.

I got one and thought it didn’t work as the SD card that came with it was faulty. Changed the SD card and it works just fine.

@@vintage_sole4065 I forget dude. But you can easily add games from the web. I added a bunch of home brew. Chances are it does. If it’s not under US look under Europe

I have I think the same cart and it has a little reset button on top. My Super GameBoy version 2 worked with it once and now shows no car when I try to start it up

Once a game is loaded once if you want to play the same game you can just press start and it boots without rewriting it

I picked up one of these on Ali express for $23 it comes with 2250 games lol but I’m excited to try it out once my customer GBC gets here

Anyone pick up the N64 Everdrive clone being offered by WarioParty? Branded "Cottie"? They're offering them fully loaded with the "complete fandom collection". Can't find a review of that one

I got the fb max one of these and when I put games on the micro sd card they don’t appear . I also ruined one by deleting all the files off of it and adding all my own games.I even added all the original files back and it still didn’t work . I’m just confused cause I also have an ez flash and I put whatever games I want on it and it works but with these knock offs I have to play the games they have already on it and can’t delete them or it messes the cart up ? Any help with doing this correctly would be much appreciated thanks

Is possible to backup the saves and play them on a pc emulator and the other way around (transfer my gbc saves from a gbc emulator to play on this device) ?

Try a different SD card, or format the one you have.

the whole a and b buttons being reversed can be changed in the options menu shame theres no rtc as i am a big gen 2 pokemon nerd

my micro SD card came with a write lock. I can't remove it definitively so I can freely add and remove rooms via the computer… does anyone know how to solve this definitively? I've tried several techniques I saw on KZfaq but nothing gave me good results...

I have v4 files that i can share if you want, mine is slightly different from the one on video. It says MAX instead of Pro+ on front cover.

4:38 you say they are in the E and J folders that stand for English and Japanese, but didn't you mean European and Japanese? If they were in the U folder they would be american releases?

The Game Boy was region-free, so I believe the folders are instead sorted by language.

i was thinking about maybe getting an everdrive (like the expensive ones) but like bricking clones? thats "understandeable" but still a move i dont support, make people want to get your products because they are good, not because you brick competitors (its stealing but its what happened with gateway3ds too)

3:46 oh these clones are ticking time bomb. Each time you load a new game it erases a flash memory chip & copies the rom into it, that process is slow & uses way more electricity than a typical cartridge does. It'll burn through your batteries really fast and the flash chip itself will die at one point. actual new overdrives use SRAM or PSRAM to store games, it's much better

I had an original everdrive for the SNES way back in the day... It most certainly had flash memory. It's ok if you treat it like a single game cartridge until you beat it or move on. I used to play a game for a few weeks. If the cart broke down after 10 or 20 years, it's ok. Keeping ram data alive requires a battery as well. Pros and cons.

No, Everdrives are horrendously overpriced and we should be promoting competition, not stifling it, which is just going to drive up prices even more. There's not some sort of proprietary magic going on in an Everdrive. They can easily be produced and sold for far less than the price you pay for a brand's ego. We need to stop disparaging companies just because they took an obvious product idea and made their own version of it.. for FAR cheaper. So that maybe the "have nots" can have some enjoyment and not just the "haves". We define originality by trademarks. That's also how we define prices. Not by how much R&D, components, and labor costs, but how much corporations believe they can get away with in their demographic.
