I feel karishma Kapoor was very dedicated and very hard working, she paved the way for kareena and ranbir Kapoor and took the legacy forward. She had to wear embarrassing clothes and make up but she rose to the top like a phoenix

What Farida ji is saying about Karisma, many others said too in the 90s. Sajid Nadiawala, David Dhawan and Govinda all praised her for her professionalism . Govinda I think once said that during the song shooting of Khuddhaar, Karisma used to rehearse so hard that she got injured and ill , and she cried a lot due to pain. However she sill wanted to continue with shooting. David said that he never saw any star as professional as her other than Big B. Her career took a bad turn due to the break up with Abhishek - most of the producers were loyal to the Bachchans so they could not work with her. Also Karisma made a big mistake by signing the TV Series Karisma The Miracle of Destiny - yes she was paid a lot for it but during those days, top stars didn do TV. Also her decision not to do 2 heroine films meant that she lost many hits like Judaai, Gupt and Ishq. Had she planned her career better, she could have ruled till mid 2000 as she looked v good,

Karishma for the first choice for all those monies? I knew Karishma was the first choice of almost all Aishwarya’s movies like Devdas , and kareena’s too like Ashoka, today I got to know that she was the first choice of Kajol & Juhi movies too

@@aribanaveed6207 correct. The magazines from 90s reported these that karisma was the first choice for Judaai, Ishq n Gupt. I also read somewhere that the makers of Gupt were v upset with her for leaving the film after her mega successes in 1996. She obviously would not have wanted to do second lead to Kajol as they were equally popular at that time. Also, she was the first choice for One 2 ka 4 but SRK got her replaced with Juhi.

Actually karishma was way better than kajol but Karan made kajol much higher in a different way otherwise the platter was completely free for karishma

I don’t like Kajol's acting at all. She overacts terribly with loudness and over the topness even when not required for her character. She sometimes gets it right but she’s mostly the same in every movie, you get Kajol, not the character. I’ve always been impressed with Karishma’s acting but the work she did in Zubeida and Shakti the Power left an indelible mark on me, she was phenomenal. It far exceeded any work done by her contemporaries and her dancing skills were top notch as well, if not equal or better than theirs.

Though I am a Madhuri fan but I must say that Karisma was much much better than her sister Kareena, Kajol, Juhi. We call Kareena as bigger star than Karisma but we must not forget the competition Karisma faced.
