About this singer if I comment great,excellent,best etc. this is in judgment for her.She was wonderful voice for ever.I was born in 1968 but when heard this voice in my child hood I thought who is she.Allah give her "Junnat ul ferdaus" this is my pray to her. Engr. Mahmud Hossain,Dhaka,Bangladesh.

Shamshad Begum! You're right...indeed, the most mellifluous, soothing, melodious, and joyous female playback who ever lived on this planet. Personally, I have benefitted, as a boy growing up in Guyana, from her musical genre which has brought nostalgia to my mind. You were, without doubt, one of a kind, truly unique! Thanks for your musical service to humanity. You had done well and would continue to live in the hearts of lovers. May your soul rest in peace.

She was one of the few female singer about whom not a single controversy we heard or read, and what an irony the people with whom she worked got name n fame like naushad and O.P. Nayyer..they totally ignored her when they got there new luck in Mangeshkar sisters...she did absolutely correct to retire gracefully than playing politics for getting more work.

How come Muslims have so much contributed to Bollywood? I cant believe their talent man. It is like a production factory. My Pitaji or Dad used to tell us without the critical contribution of Muslims, we could not have achieved so much in industry.
