When I little like 8 to 5 I think around those ages. I saw a video of Shane Dawson where he called the black girl “nigga monkey” ,blackface, and the video song basically making fun of Asians saying “Ching,ling,long etc.” I felt so bad about myself like I was sad and I was that young. 1) To be inspired by someone else's tragedy is not really a healthy step to proceed with an own personal apology (that should be done on their own meanings with their own personal motivations if wanting to remain truthful) 2) People have the right to separate their old persona with their current one, you are no longer who you used to be and thats a reality. Still owning up to their mistakes by addressing them but you cannot, you simply cannot think that the mentality of an old you is the same as your current you. You change, you grow, you even discard your old persona entirely when you decide to be reborn. (I went through this myself so its hurtful to see people denying that).. 3) Realistically speaking, if we are going to be defined by who we are friends with, we are better off being alone (yeah cause everyone is shit in their own way) 4) Traumatized childhoods are not excuse but a way to explain how that sort of shit can really fuck up your perspective in life and takes longer for a person to recover to what a normal mental health state should be. 5) he should have talked about this. Avoiding the subject is a way to show he wasn't ready to fully apologize as stated in the number 1. 6) You don't bring your friends shit publicly unless they ask for it. Its called respect, you have to respect everyone's right of privacy regardless of what you think of them. (The irony about it) 7) His statement is not self victimization, that is being realistic. Apologizing NEVER means that you are to be forgiven, is something thats done purely for your own peace of mind with good intentions for others without expecting shit back (so he shouldn't have brought up his career for this) 8) His content was "comedy" since the beginning of his career so technically all that shit was joke.
