The great Shane Macgowan, lived a great live, a life of almost total freedom, he experimented with his thoughts, he felt free to express himself after much deep thought and study of his life, the study of Irish history and learning of the very great injustices and brutality its people suffered for over 800 years, the continued invasions, wars, attacks, theft of people home and property, their lands and food stock and left to starve as shiploads of all different types of fod stuff were shipped out from the ports around Ireland to England as the Irish people fell down and died of starvation, the lucky ones took to the coffin ships to set sail for America never to see their people or homes ever again. Yes Shane was a poet and storyteller, he had plenty of materials to work from, The world is very lucky to have people like Shane, The Pogues and other fair minded and free thinking p[people to stand up for the abused, the downtrodden the starving, for those who are bombed and driven out of their homes my so-called superpowers who care nothing about their crimes against humanity, Let Freedoms bell chime, Let then ring out loud as Martin Luther King said they will

Well said in deed.... Sadly, Shane Macgowen struggled with rootlessness as he never really felt at home in either Ireland nor England (where he was born). I very much can relate to that as I are stuck in between Norway and Sweden as I since childhood spend my summers there due to my now 97 year old grandmother (ocationally other parts of the year). Despite being 6th generation Stockholmer (even the same sir name all thouse years) at least, I feel that I have got more in common with the Norwegian mentality. That said, when in Norway for some weeks, I feel more Swedish again..

@@17461771 thanks so much for your comment. It’s always good to hear different perspectives on everything in life really. I’ve lived most of my life in Ireland but also many years in both India and England. I feel equally at home in all three countries but my roots are here in Ireland and that’s the tie that binds. Ireland is my blood.

Thanks for the comment. If you look at my other videos you’ll see they were in cars right behind him to begin. Maybe it was because of the crowds but maybe it’s a tradition here. I really don’t know. Possibly someone can inform us?

@@bogtrotterErin TYSM for explaining that to me as when my grandparents died as grandad was carried out head first and I was the one practically glued to the back of the hearse and same with my nan bur I and my family walked directly behind them both when they died as they died 20 years apart from each other but my family consists of mostly Scottish Highlands and Irish people anyway so it's customary to walk behind open windows cover all mirrors and the wake after the funeral although I felt more like joining my grandparents rather than celebrating I took it really hard and I'm still suicidally depressed to this day that's why my Dr won't let me come off my antidepressants and meds for low mood
