Highlights from #57 Shane Pinto's first career NHL game on Saturday, April 17, 2021, with the Ottawa Senators vs the Montreal Canadiens - including his first career shift and point. Pinto had an assist and 1 hit in 9:24 of ice time. Ottawa won 4-0, their first shutout in two years.

I mean look at toews who played for UND and all the other greats, I think Pinto will be the next great along with Sanderson from UND

Fantastic debut. Both UND boys JBD and Pinto look great. Wasn't expecting their transition into the NHL to be this good.

So many promising plays. Takeways, dekes, face-off wins, speed. I really hope him and Norris develop into legitimate #1 & #2 centres, it's not unrealistic.

I can see them being a 1A/1B tandem, though neither really have that offensive upside to be a true 1C. Pinto screams Turris to me, Norris more likely to be a top centre

@@pat6146 ya we’re not as deep at C as we are at LW or LD. Hoping they draft either Beniers or Guenther to shore up C or RW

@@andrewseguin9443 agreed, unless they see Jimmy as a future C as opposed to LW, we are weak at centre. Personally I think jimmy should be tried at C at some point this or next season, even if it's on the third line. Just to see what he's got

Canes fan here. Just wanna say Shane Pinto might be my favorite non-hurricanes prospect. He does a lot of things well and I think you've got yourself a special kid here. Good things brewing in Ottawa, I can feel it.

Stu finds ways to impress me without playing. That clip on the bench tells you a lot, this is a 19 year old rookie from Germany making the 20 year feel comfortable in his first pro game. Loved Pinto's first game, the Sens have seriously lacked a clutch faceoff man over the last couple years (Norris is getting better)

This kid is impressive. Short sample but the comparisons to Stone and Bergeron are not way out there. He is so good defensively because of his positioning on defense and reading the opposition. Outstanding really. Taking a defensive zone draw last minute in a one goal game tells you all you need to know about what his coaches feel about his skills in this regard. Looks like a great pick Ottawa.

Impressive! I hope Pinto will turn out to be able to be a 2C with Norris.. The fact that L.Brown being a bust really hurt us in the middle. Thankfully Norris has made huge strides this season and now Pinto who seems very responsible. I would like to see him sometime with Stutzle.
